Sierra Says: The Sub Zero is the future of park riding personified. An advanced reverse-camber design combines with a noodly flex, twin shape, and beefy construction to destroy handrails and any other jib feature the park crew can conjure up. We recommend the Sub Zero to any freestyle rider looking for something soft-flexing and playful to butter around with this winter

Nitro Says: An early release of our next year's line was the Sub Zero. It took years of development and testing to build a board that can take your rail riding to the next level. We developed the gullwing camber that makes your technical street riding easier. It does this by relieving pressure from the contact po... More ?

"AWESOME! Soft and Playful" 4/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Nitro Subzero Le

  • Use:  Butters,Jibs,Jumps,Low Speeds,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Super Soft, Playful, Excellent in Pow
  • Cons:  Chatters at High Speed,

Experience:   Awesome snowboard! this board is super soft and very fun to play around with. the gullwing rocker gives it tons of flex without losing the stability and pop off the tip and nose. it is super soft so it will shake at high speeds, but for anything but bombing down blacks this thing rides perfect. the shape of the tip and tail allows for quick turns making trees a breeze. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

"Gullwing changed my life" 1/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Jibs,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Gullwing Camber, Combact Core, Rail Killer Edges

Experience:   THIS NEW GULLWING CAMBER IS AMAZING. IT MAKES RIDING RAILS, BOXES, STUMPS, GROOMERS, WELL ANYTHING EASIER. THE GULLWING RELIEVES PRESSURE FROM THE CONTACT POINTS SO ALL THE CONTROL IS RIGHT BETWEEN YOUR FEET AND STILL PROVIDES SOLID OLLIE POWER WITHOUT A SOGGY FEEL. IT ALSO HAS NITROS DRIFTER BASE THAT SLIGHTLY RAISES THE EDGES AWAY FROM THE SNOW RIGHT BETWEEN YOUR FEET TO MAKE IT EASIER TO GET THROUGH KINKS WITHOUT EGDE DAMAGE. IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN ON ONE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND PICK ONE UP.

  • Name: Nitro Subzero Le
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Halfpipe,Jibs,Jumps,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  SO soft and flexible, fun, forgiving shape, minimal sacrifice (stability, price, versatility)

Experience:   This is my new favorite board. Got it at the end of last season but I rode it in serious powder out in utah 4 consecutive days. Despite it being smaller than my usual, WAY softer, WAY more flexible, it held up in the powder really well. Took speed really well and I stayed on my board in the chop too. I was riding it with a lot of confidence even on the first run. I am digging the gullwing because I think it really helps to keep this board a versatile board. Board also came out unscathed after some iffy tree runs. whew! Props to sierra for sending me a giftcard when they lowered the price after I bought it! Nitro - I am a fan! Sierra - I was always a fan!

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Nitro Subzero Le
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,High Speeds,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Easy to control, Butters extremely well, Flex

Experience:   Just got this board yesterday and couldn't wait to ride it. The flex of this board is amazing compared to my old one, anything you want to do riding down trail is yours. The board has good pop even off of the small stuff. Can't wait to get this in the park and get in a good session. Very easy to control even at higher speeds on the trails.

"Like butter, baby" 3/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Nitro Subzero Le
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,High Speeds,Jibs,Jumps,Low Speeds,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Good flex, Doesn't catch edges, Fast

Experience:   The gullwing camber seems to allow this board to do just about everything well. Buttering/Nollies practically happen on their own, but it is still firm enough to give a steady ride. It seems impossible to catch an edge with this board. I was literally able to ride with the board flat and wiggle the tip/nose back and forth without ever even coming close to catching an edge. Turning was effortless. It seems to have a lot of pop as well, though I didn't yet get to try it on any real jumps. It even took speed really well and didn't get shaky, which I would have expected. Super fun board!

"Effortless..." 3/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Nitro Subzero Le
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Light weight, super flexable, 2yr warranty, Not everyone owns a nitro,
  • Cons:  did not come waxed,

Experience:   I went from riding a traditional camber board to the gullwing camber (rocker) board so there was a little getting used to it on the 1st day. Once I got over that, fun, fun, fun. Spinning, butters, jumps, etc. feel effrotless. It's a little harder to maneuver in line for the lift but other than that, its alllll good. Looks sweet with my yellow Burton Missions
