"Saved my wrists multiple times" 11/7/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Protec IPS Wrist Guard
  • Pros:  Ample support , Stiff ,

Experience:   I use these wrist guards currently for skateboarding before the season starts and boy let me tell you it saved my wrists a whole bunch of times on those bad bails. The stiff support plates were able to take 80% of the impact and protect my wrists from getting completely shattered. I already sprained my left wrist pretty bad so I decided to buy these to be more careful so i don't do any further damage to my wrists and so far it has been delivering great quality!

try watching the video on falling safely you realy shouldnt throw your hands out there ever, try to keep them tight to your chest as much as possible and try not to cross your arms either falling with them tight to your chest also allows your elbows to protect your ribs from serious damage

"Safety first" 1/12/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Protec IPS Wrist Guard
  • Pros:  work well to protect those wrists, decently priced, fit well under gloves
  • Cons:  plastic support plates slip out of the sleeve, tight fit,

Experience:   Don't know if these are tight on me because I'm a size larger, but once my hands get a little warm they're hard to slip off. Feels like one day they'll rip trying to get them off. The sleeve that holds the plastic support pieces isn't sewn at the top end, so they do slid back a bit. I think if a stitch or two is throw in it would solve that problem. They do fit nicely under my gloves. Various pairs too. They fit under a pair of insulated mechanics gloves which shocked me. So they are a low profile. I've only used the RED snowboard wrist guards before this. How the two compare in a few ways is this. The protecs are longer, but lower profile. Both offer excellent support, the protec being longer seems to lock your wrist in slightly better covering more area. The reds are easier to take off than the protecs. But in a nutshell, the protecs do a nice job pro tecting my wrists. I'm a big fan of not breaking my wrists. I've taken some good falls in these and I haven't even had a sore wrist. I would have given them five stars if not for the tight fit and slipage issue. Nice guards though. Would buy again.

"lots of support" 12/12/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Protec IPS Wrist Guard
  • Pros:  lots of support, comfortable, fits into gloves

Experience:   i bought these after i broke my wrist on the mountain. they offer tons of support, i'm sure that they have saved me from quite a few breaks or sprains. they're pretty slim too. I've had issues with other wrist guards fitting inside my gloves, but these are nice and compact and you don't even realize you're wearing them
