"Top Helmet" 5/31/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  Comfi, Looks Great, Sounds Great

Experience:   I got this helmet and loved it straight out of the box. The size fitted well and the padding is more then adequate. The speakers are excellent. There is a built subwoofer and seperate battery pack. It is not essential to have the subwoofer operating but is does add to the overall affect. Overall I would give this helmet a top rating for looks, comfort and functionality.

"Comfy and light" 5/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  Very light weight, Plays great audio, Comfy Chin strap
  • Cons:  Bulky design especially if you have a small head, Ear phones can be uncomfortable, Headfone jack seems flimsy.

Experience:   The helmet overall is very durable and light weight. You wont notice that it is on your head when riding. Love the feature of ear phones on the helmet with pretty decent sound quality. Actually does amp up the bass on your music without that crappy cracking sound. I matched it up with a Von Zipper Porkchop google and it matches perfectly without any problems or issues. A few thing is that i noticed is that for me i have a small long shape face and the helmet is pretty bulky. There is some pressure points on the two back side of my head but can easily be fixed with extra cushioning that is supplied with the helmet. The chin straps is very comfortable and is easily adjustable. The earphones can become uncomfortable after awhile but that is because my face is small so i have to tighten up the chin strap. It has alot of air vents so that when your busting out your moves or cutting sick at what ever activity or doing and sweating like a fat kid, it still keeps your head cool. Great buy i would say but pretty pricey.

"Hi Fi Audio" 5/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  Quality sound, Durable helmet,
  • Cons:  Headphone jack had to be replaced,

Experience:   I wear this helmet all the time. I have had to replace the headphone jack at the end, they need to design it so the plug has a 90. Otherwise great helmet, has taken some hits and held up well.

"Great Stuff" 3/8/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  Very light weight, comfy, get used to it very easily
  • Cons:  Speakers are on my cheeks not on my ears

Experience:   This is an awesome helmet, its light weight, its supper comfy, and and you get used to it very quickly, oh and it keeps my head nice and warm. Only bad thing is that the speakers/headphones are not exactly on my ears but there on my cheeks instead so i cant blast my music, and end up using earbuds. Otherwise, great helment

"comfy nogging" 1/13/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  lightweight and comfortable. I haven't tried out the speakers but they keep my ears nice and warm. The zip clip chin strap is the most comfortable strapping system I have ever used, outside of my $200 motorcycle helmet.
  • Cons:  Pricey unless you find it on sale.

Experience:   This is the second helmet I've owned. My first helmet was a protec and I thought it was good until I tried on the RED. This is a big comfy helmet that will protect your most valuable body part. Buy one or two from SS. You will not be sorry.

"Not a bad helmet" 11/12/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  Lightweight & comfy, takes a pretty good hit. The Zip clip chin strap is nice.
  • Cons:  Pretty much all the bad in this helmet is in the sound components. #1. I wasn't impressed at all with the quality of the sound and the "subwoofer" is little more than a vibrator. Apart from the quality of the sound the mute button on the ear is a great example of a good idea poorly executed, mine began shorting and once you mute it you can't un-mute it.

Experience:   All in all, the helmet isn't bad, but its hardly worth full price if you can grab it at a good discount its a pretty good deal.

"music in my ears" 10/1/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  convenient you dont have to try to run earbuds up through your coat. sound is good and the helmet does what its supposed to do.
  • Cons:  well i have a rather large head and i have the XL and it just barely fits. i had to take the headphones out so the helmet would fit a little better. it sorta helps but now my ears get cold.. its either cold or crushed i guess.

"Great deal!!!" 9/26/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  These headphones not only sound awesome, but they keep your ears warm on those brutally cold days. Plus, when the headphones already go for $60-$70, you can't beat the price.
  • Cons:  "Noooo"!! "They're all gonna laugh at you!"

Experience:   For anyone who doesn't know, the headphones are removable from the helmet, so when your iPod dies and your head is getting hot, just pop 'em out and keep ridin.

"kinda bulky" 9/19/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  I am a huge fan of headphones in helmets and these are definately loud and live up to expectations
  • Cons:  Pretty bulky style, not the most comfortable thing to wear either. The price is a little much too. I think I would rather put regular headphones in by myself then have the convenience of the built in ones.

"Awesome helmet" 1/17/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: RED Hi-Fi Audex Subwoofer
  • Pros:  Nice lightweight and very comfortable helmet. It keeps you warm as well and you can't even notice it on your head. Provides better protection than most other helmets. It also has a zip clip ratcheting chin buckle so on those cold days when you do not want to take your gloves off, you do not have to.
  • Cons:  High priced but it is worth it. It is not good to buy a helmet that is not very protective so pay the money once and you wont have to again unless you grow out of it.

Experience:   The new white ear pads with the white helmet are very sick.
