"Rides high" 1/13/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Red HiFi Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Nice range of sizes, Liner is warm, Easy to remove liners
  • Cons:  Sits high on my head, Goggle clip won't hold losse goggles,

Experience:   This is comfortable helmet. It is easy to take of ear liners for warm weather day and keep them in a pocket. If starts to get cold again on the MT its easy to slap those puppies back on. However, the helmet does ride high. It does not have sink fit. The Goggle clip is not dependable. Your goggles will fall to the ground ( ie off the lift) if you let them hang on it. It is descent helmet. However, I will be looking for something better.

"Solid Helmet" 2/7/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Red HiFi Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Light, Good fit (when sized correctly), Good venting
  • Cons:  Plain styling,

Experience:   Was the first helmet that I bought and originally picked it up in a size medium. Found that that was a bit tight so I jumped up in size. I also have a spare RED Mutiny laying around and the Hifi is by far the lighter and less obtrusive helmet (though the mutiny gets the tip off in looks with the brim style). The vents definitely worked and kept my head cool even with the liners in (warm when I needed, cool when I didn't) and the compatibility with my Electric EG2 goggles with no forehead gap. Would definitely recommend this helmet to anyone that doesn't necessarily need ridiculously flashy headgear.

"Decent Helmet" 2/4/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Red HiFi Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Protects well, Warm,
  • Cons:  Goggle holder not the greatest,

Experience:   This helmet saved my head a couple times. It's great during warmer weather as it vents well and also cooler weather. I've ridden in -26F with just the helmet on my head and my ears were fine (i do have a good cold tolerance though). The only thing to complain about is the goggle holder. It works and I've never really had a problem with it, however I did notice the strap did come out of it a couple times which means if I fell hard during those times, my goggles would probably have fallen off. Other than that, it is a decent helmet.

"very comfortable and no gaper gap" 11/25/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Red HiFi Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  very comfortable, good ventilation, has edges to help hold goggle strap in place
  • Cons:  the goggle strap clip was an afterthought, built-in audio version is much pricier,

Experience:   My favorite helmet along side my pro-tec vigilante audio and it was much cheaper. Pros: good ventilation for even those spring riding days, good padding design makes it very comfortable to wear, helmet actually has a channel design on the sides and back to help hold goggle straps in place, stock ear pad setup has removable foam and is zippered to easily install REDphones audio headphones Cons: the version with built-in audio is a lot pricier than just buying this helmet and buying REDphones to install yourself and I still can't figure out why, the ratcheted strap is a bit annoying because you can't simply unclip it like normal straps and i really don't understand since the rest of the chin strap has enough adjustability for any head it seems, and lastly, the goggle strap is a simple piece of plastic that you slide the goggle strap under and is supposed to hold them in place. First, the clip faces with the open end down so straps slide out somewhat easily, and 2, it wouldn't have been much more expensive to just put a flexible strap with a snap on it like smith/pro-tec helmets. Overall it is a great helmet, comfortable, has saved my head multiple times, and is already set up for accessories. For those of you that may not know, RED is a Burton brand and I advocate the use of quality helmets for anyone and this is a good one from a well-known brand.
