"Red had decided its easier just to sew the cap to the helmet, rather than trying to fit the cap over the helmet. The classic cap inspiration serves innovation with a clever brom that keeps snow from filling goggle vents."

"Amazing Helmet" 1/29/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Mutiny Snowboard Helmet - Men's
  • Pros:  Warm (Headflap Keeps Wind out), Comfortable,
  • Cons:  Zipper Makes Noise,

Experience:   I've rode with this helmet all season and love it. It's exceptionally warmer than my last helmet. I love the extended flap that comes down between the helmet and the goggles so that wind stays out and you stay warm. I also bought the red Headphones that go with this helmet and they are excellent quality. The only thing I've found that I'm not fond of with this helmet is the zipper. The thing that hangs off of the zipper so you can grab on to it blows around in the wind and you can hear it and it can get annoying but I'm sure there is an easy fix to that. I would highly recommend this helmet.

  • Name: Red Mutiny Snowboard Helmet - Men's
  • Pros:  Fits great, Visor, looks great

Experience:   I love this Helmet. Have a Maze as well and only ride this one because of aesthetic reasons. Love the visor and feels like I can slam my head and be ok. Confidence in your gear is key and this dome piece will give you at least that much.

"Nice, fits well, smart look, if not a little heavy..." 9/17/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Mutiny Snowboard Helmet - Men's
  • Pros:  Good design, Nice Fit, Can fit an audio earphone in.
  • Cons:  A little heavier than other brands.,

Experience:   I have the Mutiny II, which is pretty much the same except the goggle lock is like the ones on the Defy (uses elastic band to clip it in,) this is much better than the current ones, as it won't be able to fit goggles that have a separation in their band/strap (for example Smith Phenoms or Airgoggles.) The one I have is in green camo. I was looking at 3 other brands for a helmet which has a visor which was Pro-tec, Bern and Smith, but I found that this one fitted my head and looks well on me. (I have a fairly rounded head, so the slight angular cut of this helmet looks good on me.) I found it to be a little heavy. (The lightest helmet I tried was the Pro-tec and the heaviest was the Bern.) But it fitted, and didn't really bother me much. So far I've had a couple of hits with it on and I have to say it felt solid. That is, I felt like it really protected my head. I'm happy with the helmet, now I just have to find a pair of earphones for it, I'm currently using it with my skullcandy FMJ and it kinda hurts my ears.

"I put it to the test" 7/27/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Mutiny Snowboard Helmet - Men's
  • Pros:  Sick look, keeps you warm, Style
  • Cons:  Nada,

Experience:   This is the helmet i used all last season. I ride pretty hard about 140days a season. I owe a lot to this helmet from last winter... I was ripping a 4' day at Breckenridge running lines through the same tree runs with my buds. Long story short towards the end of the day i kept thredding tighter and tighter trees looking for the fresh tracks. I was hauling, threddn the needle and then a close out, no way through! I slammed the brakes and my nose caught a tree on my left and i went head first into a tree. I ended up with one of the worst concusions ive ever had but without a doubt without this helmet, i would have mashed potatoed by skull. Great helmet functionality and style. I hope you dont ever have to but it does work if you put it to the test.

"Slick helmet" 3/11/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Mutiny Snowboard Helmet - Men's
  • Pros:  Light, Good Protection, Comfortable
  • Cons:  Doesn't last forever,

Experience:   I bought this helmet last season. I was looking for something comfortable and relatively light. This helmet definitely fit the bill. I get compliments all the time because it just looks sweet, a bit like a baseball cap. It works great with different goggles. I took a big hit last month and didn't realize what had happened until later. I had a mark on my forhead where the helmet had the ground. The helmet was cracked but the doctor told me I was fine. My friends could not believe it. They saw the crash and thought for sure I was knocked out. I've got this helmet to thank for protecting my big noggin. Bottom line: low profile snowboard helmet that offers great protection as well as great looks.

  • Name: Red Mutiny Snowboard Helmet - Men's
  • Pros:  Low Profile, Cool Look,

Experience:   Love this helmet. I have it. I like the way it looks, looks like you dont have a big melon on your head. Very comfortable and also very warm surprisingly. I actually have the Red Mutiny 2, but i suppose they are pretty much the same. Overall, great helmet for sure!

  • Name: Red Mutiny Snowboard Helmet - Men's
  • Pros:  Lightweight, Warm, Price

Experience:   Great helmet! Lightweight, warm, and looks good! This is one piece of equipment that I own and would not cheap out on. As for sizing, I tend to wear 7 1/8 New Era Caps, so the Medium fits well. But I think for those who still want to wear a beanie underneath you might want to go a size up or just take out the liner.
