"Great Style, Comfortable!" 11/3/2011
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Red Trace 2 Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Warm, Stylish
  • Cons:  Padding sort of flimsy, Goggle clip not too secure,

Experience:   I really liked Red's helmet, because it wasn't too bulky, but provided ample protection and cushioning for any bad bails. The ear padding was nice and warm. If you're between sizes (Med-Lg) like me, go for the medium. The only thing I didn't really like was the flimsyness of the padding and the goggle clip. The goggle clip doesn't really have a button to secure your goggles from falling off, so it falls off relatively easily. The ear padding for listening to music was a very smart idea as well, I liked that a lot. Other than the goggle clip, this helmet is excellent for the price!

"Great Helmet" 1/14/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Red Trace 2 Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  comfortable, style,
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   I picked this helmet up at sports authority for pretty cheap actually andd it was my best investment toward my snowboard career. Most goggles fit well with it as well as look good. Keeps your whole head warm and its very strong and absorbs impact great, I should know after introducing it to the rails and letting them shake hands.

"RED does a great job!" 11/10/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Red Trace 2 Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Warm & comfy, Soft inside, adaptable with RED redphones
  • Cons:  kind of tight,

Experience:   wish I got a bigger size cuz I grew a little but I love this helmet. It kept me warm and when it was really cold I took one pad out and then I fit a beanie under the helmet. It did its job too i had a bad wipe out and hit my head on a rail but i was completely fine because of the helmet. I love this thing it saved me a concussion and some bad bruising.

"Nice Helmet" 7/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2011 Red Trace 2 Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Comfy, Durable,
  • Cons:  Venting,

Experience:   This is a really cool helmet. It's great for skating in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. I reccomend this helmet to skaters and only snowboarders that don't go in freezing conditions because you can't close the vents.

"great until it wasn't" 7/10/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Red Trace 2 Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  good fit, looks good,
  • Cons:  shell separated from padding,

Experience:   First, let me mention that I'm not sure if the helmet I have is a 2010 or 2011. I liked my '09 Red Trace so much that I bought another one. The '09 was still perfect after a season and a half of riding, but I lost it during a move, so I picked up another. This one was great until the end of the '11 season when the padding & shell separated. There must be some glue or other mechanism that held the two together, but they came apart, and the shell would slide around enough to be super annoying, but not enough to actually fall off. It may have been caused by the added weight of my GoPro camera mounted on it, and it did almost last the entire season (22 days). Either way, the helmet is essentially useless to me now, but I did love it before this happened, so I'm hoping mine was just a fluke. I will probably buy another one for next season, and if something like this happens again, only then will I go back to Giro.

"Great for longboarding and snowboarding" 1/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Red Trace 2 Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Light, Comfortable, Pretty stylish for a helmet
  • Cons:  ear pads come out easily,

Experience:   This helmet is extremely comfortable. The only Issue with it is how easily the ear pads come out although that is not a problem with me because I took them out and I just wear a thin beanie underneath so I don't need the extra warmth. I like how low profile and stylish red helmets look. Some helmets make my already big head look huge but this helmet looks nice. My favorite thing about this helmet is that you can take the earpads and the extra insulation out and then just use it as a skate helmet. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes lightweight skate style helmets.

"Great helmet for it's price" 2/25/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Red Trace 2 Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Good protection, Goggles fit nicely while wearing helmet
  • Cons:  Goggle clip not secured, Earpads come loose,

Experience:   This is a very good helmet for a cheap price. It's warm, comfy and fits very well on the head. Goggles fit perfect under the helmet. Great protection during falls on/hits to the head. The ear pads did come loose a few times over a weeks period, but this was mostly noticed before they were able to fall out. Wearing the helmet without ear pads and with a beenie is a great alternative if it bothers you. Also the goggle clip came off once and there is no button to secure your goggles. Overall I am very happy to have tested this helmet and was greatly pleased with the price/quality rating. Small improvements to this helmet would be better secured ear pads and goggle clip. This helmet is suited for everyone looking for a comfortable, good looking, easy fit and secure helmet and aren't looking to spend big bucks.
