  • Name: Red Trace II Audio Snowboard Helmet
  • Pros:  Simple style; great fit; great price; audio,
  • Cons:  Weight; audio,

Experience:   I purchased this helmet for less than $50 - and at that price I couldn't be happier....helmet fits great, looks cool (simple style), and has decent audio - much better than earbuds. I have this helmet matched up with some Anon Hawkeye goggles and they fit great together. All that being said, if you are looking for a high-end helmet, this probably isn't the one - it is a little heavy, doesn't have a ton of vents, and the audio isn't superb quality. However, if those are the requirements you are looking for, you will be spending 2x the price of this helmet. Overall, this is a solid helmet with a decent audio feature at a great price.

"Saved My Life" 10/25/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Trace II Audio Snowboard Helmet
  • Pros:  Strong, Light, Comfortable
  • Cons:  Audio quality,

Experience:   I had the previous generation of the Trace helmet and it saved my life. I had a very hard crash where the back of my head hit a tree going relatively fast. The helmet took the hit well and didn't even cause it to buckle (I'm going to replace it because I'm afraid the internal structure is now compromised but on the surface, you can't tell). The audio quality isn't very good, but the fact that I don't have to try to mess around with headphones makes it worth it. I have also used the helmet in the summer for mountain biking and it worked great. The vents helped keep my head from overheating. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to hear music while they ride.

"trace 2 audio" 7/26/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Trace II Audio Snowboard Helmet
  • Pros:  good sound, protective, fits perfect with anon gogs
  • Cons:  can be uncomfortable when worn tight,

Experience:   Much more comfortable than wearing standard headphones plus you dont have to worry bout them falling out while riding. Another thing better than headphones is since theyre not pressed right up against or in your ear so you can still hear your friends talking to you on the lift. This can also be a negative that theyre not against your ear cuz when its really windy you have to turn them up high since the wind goes between your ear and the speakers...i found wearing my under armor hood with it tends to help with this problem as well. Sound quality on the speakers was far beyond what i expected it to be. Dont expect it to be like bose headphones but quality is still good. Fits well with my oakley crowbars but the fit is perfect with my anon hawkeyes. No gaps between the two with either goggles. I personally feel that the hifi is a bit more comfortable but this helmet fits a little more loosely and is worth every penny you will spend on it.
