"Great Protection" 3/6/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Red Trace Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Looks Great, Great Protection, Warm
  • Cons:  Strap gets stuck to my jacket.,

Experience:   This helmet is excellent. It keeps my head warm and safe. The other day I caught my healside edge and without this helmet I was almost guaranteed a concussion but thanks to this helmet I barely felt a thing, and I was warm.

"Red Trace Snowboard Helmet " 12/28/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Trace Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Warm, Comfortable, Protection
  • Cons:  ear pads fall out,

Experience:   This is one of the best helmets I have worn. It looks great on just about anyone and protects the most important thing of all you head. The only bad thing I can say is overtime the ear pads fall out because they are removable but other than that the helmet is rally great. It is snug and keeps your head warm it is light also. I would recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a long lasting quality helmet.

"Great helmet for the money" 12/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Trace Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Good fit, Great price
  • Cons:  No serious cons,

Experience:   I bought this helmet last spring to wear for this year's riding season. After wearing it out, I am very happy with the purchase. My head size was right on the border of medium and large listed on the size chart. Luckily my friend's brother had this helmet in medium so I tried it on and found large was a better fit for me. The helmet is very comfortable and warm and considering the price compared to many others out there, you can't go wrong. Definitely a good investment to make to protect your brain!

"Nice Helmet" 11/28/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Trace Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Protects your head,

Experience:   I've had this helmet for a year now and am pretty happy with it. I have the one with speakers in the ear and it's a nice option but you can't always here what your friends are saying haha. It does protect your head though, I've taken some pretty nasty hits on it and my head was fine.

"Great helmet for the price" 11/26/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Red Trace Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Warm and comfy, Audio ear pads available, Stylish
  • Cons:  Ear pads fall out,

Experience:   I bought this helmet because I like the style of the skate / snow helmets over those that are strictly for snow sports. Also they had a camoflauge one that looks really sick so I could not pass that up. This helmet has saved me quite a few times and I would never consider riding without one ever again. One of the nice features of RED helmets is that you can remove the ear pads and replace them with audio earpads. The sound quality of these is comparable to basic headphones but you get a mute button right on the ear pad which really comes in handy. Another great reason to ride with a helmet is that it keeps your head and ears much warmer than a hat and it won't fall off. One drawback to removable ear pads is that they fall out quite a bit which is annoying. The audio ear pads are a little bit bigger than the ones that came with the helmet so they have stretched out the slot and now the regular ones will hardly stay in. I think I'm going to fix that with some double sided tape. Also on my camo version of the helmet the camo material is very thin and stretched over the helmet. It tore after I failed to duck under a tree branch. That won't be a problem with the white version and is nothing that a well placed sticker can't fix.

"Great dual sport helmet" 5/3/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Trace Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Price, dual purpose, fit
  • Cons:  ear pads,

Experience:   Bought this helmet in white last year, since I was looking for a helmet for use both on snow and for mild use for skateboarding in summer. This helmet is great for the price, and with removable ear pads, allows me to use the helmet all season for snowboarding, and then when I occassionally hit the skatepark in the summer. It fits well, and is comfortable, and keeps my head/ears warm. Only problem is once in a while the ear pads can pop out when you take a hard landing or when they get loose, but otherwise, I highly recommend for those looking for a simple dual purpose helmet.

"Think RED is going cheap" 3/31/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Trace Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Light, Good Fit, Removable ear pads
  • Cons:  Seems cheap,

Experience:   Got this helmet and I must say I am a bit dissapointed with the features compared to my old helmet (Red Skycap). The goggle strap seems really cheap, almost an afterthought. It just clips on at the bottom of the helmet, instead of attached to the helmet. The front vents are open and closed by an insert on the inside of the helmet as opposed to vents on the outside. Plus side it has a bottle opener on the helmet! Anyone know what the two extra pieces of foam are for that the helmet came with? About 4 long and a little over an inch wide. No clue where these go or what they are for.

Comments & Questions

Zachripper81
Can't guarantee for this helmet, but often extra pieces like that are included to fine-tune the fit for each wearer if necessary. For example, my head is long a skinny, so I always need extra padding on the sides so it doesn't rattle around.

jake92
the reason the goggle strap clips on and off is so you can take it off for skateboarding bro. same as the ear pads. agree with your review tho..

"The helmet that saved me and my wallet" 3/28/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Trace Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Cheap with great protection, Removable ear pads, Can be use for snow and Skate, Simple style, warm, can fit most goggles, can change to audio pads
  • Cons:  Not as light as the RED HiFi, goggle strap holder clip comes off quite easily,

Experience:   I got this Red trace helmet with very good deal when I started to take snowboarding seriously. It's one of the cheaper skate style helmet out in the market. This helmet is comfortable and warm. A bit heavy if you compare it with other pricier helmets. I had a large one cuz I like to wear beanie under it when the weather is too cold or windy. But it's quite warm to begin with. It saved me over the years, including falling off a feature in a park, banging my hand against a rail... Got some marks on the helmet and i put some nice die cut to cover it. It really did the job and I am glad i had it on. One of the draw back beside the weight of the helmet is the goggle strap clip at the back of the helmet. It comes in two sizes long and short but both of them doesn't hold well on collision and come off. I end up losing one of them. So i put my google on before I put on the helmet instead of having the strap wrapping around the helm. It's a great helm after all.

"bueno y barato" 3/27/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Red Trace Snowboard Helmet Men's
