  • Name: 2013 Ride Berzerker Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Kill it all, Kill it all, No seriously, i aint kidding... kill it all
  • Cons:  no pop walls.,

Experience:   I am not kidding. This board blew my freaking mind away. I bitch and moan about boards always having a trade off and after about 12 days on it i can say this: this board is phenomenal. Day 1: strapped in, had a wee flex test and was STUNNED at how pliable it is. Dont get me wrong, this isnt a horrorscope... but nor is it your standard bomber deck. This thing has a bit of give to it that if youre used to pressing tanks will feel as soft as an artifact. Second thing, pop on edge and BLAM! you know for a fact that youre on rails, theres none of this needing to look back at your trail... its on edge. Its so nippy on edge it feels like there's a kickback on it. Which brings us to stability. On point, responsive as hell, beautiful turn initiation. The thing carves awesome. And then i popped it into some japow. I live in japan, i also had the pleasure of having kagura (one of the heaviest dumped on mountains in japan), as my home turf. I took this into the deep flattest area in early feb and the thing killed. No nose diving, no problems. 158 with a dude approaching 170lbs. Not a problem. This isnt a powder board, but it sure as hell works like one when you need it to. Day 2: centered the bindings. Suddenly the boards giving me some serious pop again. I admit, day 1 it felt a little sluggish in its spring (well, at least compared to my riot), but centering the bindings and turning it into a twin pretty much sorted that out. Of course it did have a wee impact on its float and i was a little more cautious taking it into the deep flats, but you know... theres a happy mediu here between full twin center (off set unsetback) versus full setback, setback (ie, the inbuilt setback taken to the furthest back inserts). I wrote a massive review on the forums which i might link here actually, but honestly, best board ive ever ridden. I tell you what as well, having demod the highlife 2013, if they add popwalls to this rig for 2014, then this board is going all the way to 11.

heres that longer review: http://www.trusnow.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=51408&PID=1156407#1156407 Ps. from one day on bad conditions (so really more like 4 hours - to summarize, heres my take on the distinction between the highlife 2013 and berzerker 2012 or 2013 (same boards, just different gfx): Highlife: more float, tankier, lighter but feels slower edge to edge. Pop walls are just amazing. Zerker: Sleek, fast, incredible turn initiation, fast and although it less pop but all round it feels just a little more nimble and responsive. Its also a bit softer if my legs werent deceiving me. Id go with the highlife if you want something a bit more solid (with a pow lean - though honestly im assuming this to be the case since the conditions were literally end of season slush when i tested it)) for some serious heavy terrain and the zerker if you want a kill it all ride where you dont have to give a shit about the conditions and want a bit of it all.
