  • Name: Ride Machete Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  low rise rocker, stable at speeds,

Experience:   I demo'd the 2012/2013 machete yesterday and had heaps of fun shredding on it. Great board for all conditions, not too soft, not to stiff. Perfect for the rider who only wants one setup.

  • Name: Ride Machete Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  stable,
  • Cons:  graphics might be a bit loud if you are not a teen, glow in the dark rails didn't work :),

Experience:   I have snowboarded for many years, but this is the first board i've owned. I wanted something with rocker and had been thinking of the Gnu Crabon Credit but the guy at the shop talked me into this and i'm so glad I got it. I am 76Kg, 176cm (5'9). Bought the 2012 155cm model. The board is quite flat through the middle with slight rocker at both ends (whereas the Carbon Credit is much more banana shaped). I rode this board at Mt Buller Australia, where the conditions can be icy or slushy at the best of times but I couldn't believe how fast this board went compared to other board i've ridden, and especially how forgiving it is. I found it really hard to fall off, even when pushing it on steeper runs. It's fairly stiff, but a nice amount of flex too. Materials seem good quality. I don't do death defying, I just like to cruise down the mountain and have a bit of fun. This board is already improving my boarding and am looking forward to taking it to NZ next week to try in powder. I can't beleive how good this board is to ride. 10/10. Recommended.

  • Pros:  perfect for all mountain,

Experience:   Even though it isn't the softest, beginners can definitely use this board. I use it with Rome 390 Bosses and it works for pretty much everything.

"One board quiver. " 1/14/2012

  • Name: Ride Machete Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Stable at speeds., Great on everything.,

Experience:   If you are a solid rider, live in Utah, and are looking for one board that can do it all and do it all well, then this is the stick for you. The LowRize rocker that starts just outside the inserts allows the board to transition edge to edge quickly and helps it to be super playful and floaty in powder without being too squirrely. The nearly flat camber enables you to ride harder and longer with ease by not forcing you to fight to depress the camber all day long. The pop rods give the board liveliness without making it too stiff and the forgiving nature of the Slimewall sidewall lessens the likeliness of blowing out an edge if you hit a rock under the snow or land too hard on a rail. Great board for a fair price. I'm 150 lbs. and ride the 158cm version just because I like a little more surface area for deep snow. However, the 155cm version feels just as stable at speed.

"Ride Machete" 12/30/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Ride Machete Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Lowrize rocker is fun and floaty, it does everything well (though I don't ride park), & it stops me from spending money on other boards
  • Cons:  It's going to be difficult to buy another board!,

Experience:   I love this board! I have the original, 2009/10 version though have also ridden the 2011/12 one on a demo day. The lowrize rocker is (for me) the perfect compromise between traditional and reverse camber and despite being tempted by other Ride boards this year (particularly the Berzerker and Slackcountry), I just enjoy riding the Machete too much to replace it! I'm also trying Contrabands this season and so far, reckon they're go great with the Machete, as you'd expect. Overall, a big thumbs up from me!
