  • Name: 2012 Ride Phinney Snowboard Pants - Men's
  • Pros:  10k waterproof, easy to use zippers, leg vents with mesh
  • Cons:  only buttons at the waist, velcro belt isn't strong,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  barely slightly large at my waist but baggy through the legs without being overly baggy

Experience:   So I just got these on sale at my local store and tried them out the other day. compared to my other pants, these were AMAZING. first of all, the 10k waterproofing is a must have and it performed wonderfully. i sat in the snow all day and watched my brother get up and fall down on his first day and my behind never got wet. the velcro belt that is built into the pants is a nice addition but i felt that the velcro wasnt really strong on those bands. the velcro everywhere else was really strong and i felt safe if i happened to forget to zip my zipper that the velcro would keep the contents in my pocket. the snowskirt worked fine, and the latch on the gaiters worked as well. i have no complaints about either. it was nice to have vents with mesh built into both legs. so when i get hot i could open the vents without worrying about snow getting inside. it would help cool me off and keep me comfortable. later in the day snow started falling, and the wind picked up so i closed the vents and it was easy to operate the zippers while on the chair lift with big gloves on. my only real complaint about this pair of pants is that the waist snaps together with two buttons that sometime bust open when i fall hard. i know some other pants have buttons reinforced with velcro or even hooks to secure the waist. i would prefer velcro to be there but it wasnt a deal breaker. for the majority of the day i didnt have to worry about it. also, occasionaly the velcro belt would loosen up as well causing my pants to fall down slightly. but i wasnt sure if i hooked it on the velcro part tobegin with. OVERALL it was a great upgrade from what i had and a great pair of pants at a great price. the 10k waterproofing worked wonderfully, the leg vents were a nice addition and it fit well.

Comments & Questions

Stanky13
... so after about 3-5 days on the mountains i decided to wash these pants. i washed them according to the manufacturers suggestions. after washing them i turned them inside out and noticed a huge tear in one of the legs. i hope to return these because of this giant tear in the lining. i dont know if the tear is a testament to my riding style/crashes... or to the manufacturing standards of Ride. maybe the pants were just a fluke... maybe the washing machine was too brutal. i dont know, but this was my experience with the pants and i want to share it with you all

  • Cons:  size,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  XL
  • Description:  They run a litte big. For me a medium fit a 32x30

Experience:   These are the 2012 Pants but they are great. They are made really good, very strong and very warm. I don't have anything bad to say about them. I have took a lot of bad falls with them and they are still in one piece. The green color is just right on does not look to bright. I tried them on first somewhere else before I order them. They run a little big.

  • Pros:  good price, heavy duty,
  • Cons:  a little baggy,
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  A little Baggy

Experience:   Hi everyone, I am 5' 10 weigh about 165-170 so i am not super skinny and would say i fit usually 32 jeans and these pants were a bit big. But i kinda thought thats how snowboard pants are suppose to be. I love these pants regardless, so def pick them up if you want water proof warm pants cuz i dont wear any liners or anything underneath
