Ride SPi

Sierra Says: The SPI is Ride's most recognizable binding. With a fairly responsive design, this binding best compliments stiffer all-mountain snowboards. While its powerful flex and aggressive nature are not necessarily ideal for everyday park riding, those factors make it a great choice for laying hard carves and catching big air around the mountain.

Ride Says: Representing over a decade of evolution, the SPI is a cornerstone of the Ride line. Combining Ride's new Wedgie 3.0 footbed, PowerFlex highback and convertible Grip toe strap to create the perfect blend of lightweight comfort and customizable response for all-terrain freestyle riding.
  - Response R2 Chassis System w/ Adjustable Heelcup
- PowerFlex Highback
- Balance Ankle Strap w/ Tool-Less Center Adjust
- Convertible Grip Toe Strap
- PowerUL Ratchets
- Wedgie 3.0 Footbed
- Forged Aluminum Response Disc

"Almost Good" 9/15/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Ride SPi
  • Pros:  Highly Adjustable, Canted FootBeds, All Aluminum
  • Cons:  Poor Toe Cap, Adjustabliity of ankle strap, Heavy
  • Flex:  stiff

Experience:   I really wanted to like these bindings. Super adjustable from healcup to ankle strap stiffness. What I liked was the super padded canted footbeds and the ability to adjust the ankle strap. However, unlike the Rome Targe, the ankle strap adjusts with plastic sliders. Pulling them all out make a very soft strap, but making them stiffer with the plastic clips makes them stiff in parts and soft in others instead of uniform stiffness across the strap. This could be a plus but I personally didn't like it. Also, they way the ankle strap lenght adjusts caused it to come loose on my riding down the hill.Last thing, after just 2 days on the hill, the rubber mesh toe cap ripped in 2 places so I returned them for a refund.

"Great Bindings!!" 12/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Ride SPi
  • Pros:  Toe Caps/Straps, Metal Ratchets,
  • Cons:  Scratched my boots, but who cares,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I'm a novice, but I didn't get the pressure around my toes like I did with my old bindings where it went over my toes, the toe cap was great. The straps were easy to get in and out of. Metal ratchets.

"SPI 2006 Bindings" 12/13/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Ride SPi
  • Pros:  good price, durability,
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   I have the Ride Spi from around 2006. They are awesome bindings. Everything about them is great. The ratchets are very easy to tighten and loosen(but never loosen when you dont want them too). The toe strap is also convertable. Im an all mountain boarder and they work great for me. Im talking about the 06 version so I am sure the current version is even better.

"Sick but i think ride could have done better" 11/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Ride SPi
  • Pros:  Solid design,
  • Cons:  a little spendy for how average they are,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   these are some really great bindings, my only real concern is that for how much you are paying for them. you could get a much better pair of bindings from ride such as the contraband. but that being said i really enjoy them. they are a solid ride and will last forever.

"Great binders." 11/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Ride SPi
  • Pros:  Lots of padding, Light,
  • Cons:  Strap release, Straps small for non-Ride boots,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I tend to ride a slightly wider stance, and the canted footbeds really relieve the pressure on my knees. Ratchets are good and solid, but can be a little hard to release when it's cold out. Definitely recommend.

"great bindings" 7/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Ride SPi
  • Pros:  Easily adjustable straps, Straps dont hurt feet,
  • Cons:  Stance is difficult to adjust,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I bought these bindings at the beginning of the season, rode them on whistler mountain all season long and they took the beating without breaking or tearing. Great all around bindings and very comfortable. The only thing I hate about these is its difficult to change your stance on the go for pow days.

"Super Cush" 12/6/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Ride SPi
  • Pros:  cush, responsive,
  • Flex:  stiff

Experience:   Just took these out for the first time today and they are sick. The frame and highback are incredibly responsive. The toe strap kept everything in place nicely. The padding reduced chatter to almost nothing. These bindings are the real deal for all mountain hauling.
