Sierra Says: Over the years, one board has captured the spot light in the jibbing world and it looks like it won’t be leaving any time soon. Back for 09/10 and as badass as ever, the famous Rome Artifact 1985 will continue to impress. This true twin freestyle legend is for the riders who need to tap, poke, tweak, slash, and slide anything and everything. Not even the urban city is safe from this phenomenon. Combine its Reverse jib camber and the forgiving biaxial laminates with bronze edges that are soft and catch free, and you have a board meant for the extreme freestyler and a snow weapon not to be taken lightly.

Rome Says: Go Shred or Go Home—if the Bones Brigade crew took a time warp to the slopes of Big Bear in 2010, they’d probably all be pushin’ the retina-bursting Artifact ‘85s. The camber profile’s flat mid section gives between-the-feet stability for locking into backlips, while the reverse camber tip and tail make for perfect 5-0s. A Reverse-V glass stringer adds pop while still maximizing the loose, press-happy nature of the reverse camber profile.

Base color may very.

  • Use:  Boxes,Rails
  • Pros:  super flexy, low price, durable
  • Cons:  design is not appropriate for children, average weight., I only have one.

Experience:   This is one extremely sexy stick, I give it a A+ on the graphics. I'm your typical park fiend, and this board gets the job done every time. I was super shocked by it's durability, My other boards didn't last much more than a month, where as this one lasted all season. Although it's mainly designed for rails, i've never had a problem with it hittin jumps, through pow or cruisin. I love the bronze edges, I don't catch edges half as much as I used to with my other deck. It's an overall babe and I highly recommend it!

  • Pros:  Read review,
  • Cons:  None really,

Experience:   This board is the reverse camber model, however, it does not look like either the Horrorscope or the Park Rocker. I, myself, would have classified it as a 0 camber. It shows little or no camber either way. Hand pressing feels very flexy, as it should. The board does not feel as light as the Park rocker. Bronze edges, sexy, check. Strapped in: On the lift I now realize it has a normal weight feel, where the Park Rocker felt like air on my feet. On the hill I realize it has as much flex as you could ever want/need, yet does not feel like a thin piece of plastic that gives in to every groove or bump. Buttering was business as usual. On rails It feels great which was expected (presses were of course higher at first than needed to be). I have not detuned it and no edges caught yet, which is unusual for me (especially when backwards.....maybe the bronze edges and 3 degree factory bevel work?). I finally got to hit some real jumps this past weekend. They had a nice string of three step downs, the biggest being maybe 40ft then 30 and 15. The board handled great, which they all do if you land correctly. I only spun off the 15ft, and I believe the 0 camber helped a bit by not overspinning when I decided to drop my legs (Park Rocker wanted to wash out quite a bit). I was blessed with hitting about 8 or more inches of powder on Loveland's Pass. The board handled great and was alot of fun, even through the steep pines. But I really don't have the time on pow like some of the riders on here so I may not know what a bad board on powder is. (Arbor Mystic, Park Rocker, and Artifact all were great for me in powder). Final Thoughts: A flexible park board that doesn't sacrifice a quality feel. Sure it is more rail specific but I believe I found the perfect all around board for me (And I actually prefer jumps). Nearly as flexible as park rocker, but the tips don't stick 4 and 6 inches off the ground like the Horrorscope and Rocker.
