Sierra Says: It is rare to find a board that is truly versatile all over the mountain and in different conditions, but Rome?s Postermania 1985 truly is an inspiration. A blend of Carbon V stingers with biaxial laminates give the Postermania a truly unique feel. Freestyle enthusiasts know that they need a board that will flex where and when they need, and they love this board. The board is easy to ride, has forgiving flex, and high quality construction. Freestyle has a new name and its Postermania 1985.

Rome Says: Press a box. Float pow in either direction. Spin with control. Tap a stump. Surf. Throw a carveButter. The Postermania combines a Reverse-Free camber profile with a Carbon V stringer that adds snap off your tail edge, and balanced, more powerful ollies. The result is the poster child of boards that have a habit of dropping hits of fun all over the hill.

  • Name: Rome Postermania 1985
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,High Speeds,Jibs,Jumps,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  holds edge well, stable for rocker, cuts through crude and ice, solid build
  • Cons:  im to short for the 150cm i have, not heavy enough for this board,

Experience:   got this board under warranty but they only had the 150. i ride a 146 in all areas.i ride park mainly. this board handled well first run. being a rocker it still handle very well at high speeds and even shaved up the early morning ice really well. you wont know its a rocker until you go to the park on it. it holds it edge super good unlike the artifact 85. this is a really nice board if oyu like a stiffer more stable board. this board can handle 50ft booters no prob, and well as butter the park out... i just wish i was about 5in taller and about 40lbs heavier..

  • Use:  Boxes,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Crazy grafic. Colors are Awesome., Stiffer flex then the artifact., Revers camber.
  • Cons:  Expensive., Top sheet chips easy.,

Experience:   Bought this board this spring only got to ride it twice but it seemed very good both times. I ride the park mostly and its a dream on the rails. Its a little sketchy bombing big hills and on ice. Other than that its great.

Experience:   this is a perfect all mountain freestyle snowboard. this board is not soft flex. If you are into jibbing, you are better off with artifact.

"AWESOME board!" 3/10/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Rome Postermania 1985
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Flex, Rocker, Park Beveled Edges

Experience:   This board is incredible! I love it. It's a little stiffer than your go-to park board, but you can definitely flex it. I can still press boxes, lock onto rails, and hit some sick ground tricks. Stuntin is what I do... and this board kills it. The rocker on this board is so loose and responsive. It feels a little different landing jumps and taking steep drops off of features than a normal cambered board, but you'll get used to it. This board still has enough pop to leave no kernel unpopped. If you need a room temp stick of butter to press your board, look elsewhere.. or man up. If you actually know how to butter, you'll rock this board and you'll still be able to bomb blacks like nobody's business. It's stable at high speeds, so you don't have to bring that other pair of pants and extra undies for when you lose control at high speeds... 'cause you won't. Also, this board has SICK graphics. I have the 153 and it is a beauty. the topsheet did chip in one place, but the board is such a BAMF that I couldn't care less. Rome does a great job with all mountain freestyle boards, and did not fall short with the Postermania. Bottom line: Choose this board. You'll love it.
