Also the S90 comes with an upgraded high back that allows for up to 12 degrees or rotation for custom fit. The S90 snowboard binding really is the perfect binding. This all mountain freestyle binding is perfect for a blend of riding styles and conditions. Wether you're a park rider looking for forgiveness, or a black diamond bomber looking for control, the Rome S90 will be the last binding you'll ever need.

"Great Bindings & Cheap Price" 1/2/2011
Helpful Review?   (10) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Total comfort, Good for all over the mountain, The price, great looks
  • Cons:  None,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   So I bought these along with the Sierra RC and the first thing I noticed after taking them out of the box is that they look like a effin sports car...sleek and mean but with the right amount of shine. I love the way you can adjust them on the fly w/o any tools. I switched boards the other day on the mountain w/ one of the girls i was riding w/ and could make the straps fit her boots within a couple minutes. The ankle strap is made to be soft enough to not need any breaking in...so it was totally comfortable from the start. The toe straps stay on and don't even budge due to the rubber material that it's made of. The cushioning under foot is great and soft for hard landings on packed snow. I've read that other people think the straps looked or felt weak, but I don't see anything wrong with them. I've been using Salomon bindings and thought those were great. Now I'm finding it hard to go back to the old ones on my other board. I would much rather take the time to switch bindings onto other boards than to use bindings that I think are lower quality.

"I like em, but they have flaws." 2/23/2011
Helpful Review?   (6) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Comfy footbed/base, Comfortable straps,
  • Cons:  Annoying ratchet, Peeling paint, Highback adjustment
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   I have put about 6 days on these with a K2 parkstar. I am very confident and comfortable in them. Fairly flexy for park and responsive enough to bomb. I do have some gripes though. The highback adjustment on the back comes undone and slides up, allowing the highback to pivot further back than my boot will go. I had to cinch it tighter with an allen wrench to get it to stay, which makes it difficult to adjust later. The ratchets work well but if you pull the ratchet all the way back when tightening, it can get caught up on the release tab so it doesn't fold back down flat. Lastly I stepped on the highback getting in line for a lift and bent it severely sideways and heard a 'pop' - I thought I had broken it. Fortunately the highback seems to be functionally fine, a large portion of the paint/clearcoat had cracked and peeled away. So half of that highback is matte black while the rest is shiny. It has started peeling in other areas too, like the high flex area around the bolts where the highbacks connect. So all in all a great performing binding so far, with a few QC issues that can be fixed or are cosmetic. Definitely worth the $$ if you buy in the sierra board package deal.

"Great Deal!-" 7/20/2011
Helpful Review?   (5) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Reliable, Look great, Great fit
  • Cons:  Paint started to chip,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   So, I wanted to wait until the end of the season to write my reviews. I rode an entire season on these, and they were great!!! I got them for only $80, since I also ordered a sierra board. Which was amazing because the green S90s match the sierra stunt so well! -At the begining of the season setting them up was a sinch. Sometimes bindings are a pain in the butt to get to fit, but these were simple! They were so reliable! I had no problems with them the entire season. Also the padding around the straps scared me at first I didn't think they would hold up for very long. I was wrong the padding mad the bindings so comfortable! The only con I can think of is that near the end of the season the paint started to chip. Since I rode so much this year that didn't really bother me. Overall - very good bindings @ a great price!

"Solid All MTN Lay-z-boy binder." 1/24/2012
Helpful Review?   (4) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Amazing straps, Great control, Adjustable
  • Cons:  Highback adjustment,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   Hands down, the most comfortable binder I have ever ridden. The ankle straps are like 2 lay-z-boy recliners holding your feet down. The toe caps are the best I have ever used. Once broken in (about 8-10 runs) they really do feel like they are molded exactly to your boot. No slipping of the straps, and the ratchets work very well, no issues there. I will chime in on the high-back adjuster issue. I as well had the problem of the adjuster knob coming undone. But as mentioned in other reviews, if you just tighten the allen head down it seems to stay in place. That is a problem though if you are the type of person that likes to adjust high-backs on the fly during the day as with the allen head tightened down, you can't adjust the highback. These binders are also a pretty responsive all mtn slayer. From park riding, to bombing groomers, slashing a little pow, and dragging knuckles on ice, I felt extremely confident and in control with the s90 strapped to my feet. I am also in love with the on the fly strap adjustments. VERY handy. I won these in the daily giveaway, but would of been more than happy to pay for them. I would recommend these to the advancing rider that wants a little more play, without losing response.

Is the flex too soft after breaking them in?

batmanwest
Not at all. For reference, I rode Flux RK-30's last year, and those were too soft for my liking. These are a few steps up stiffness wise and think they work great for anything I throw at them. I would rate them a 6 (1 being spaghetti, 10 being a rock)

"Can't go wrong with these!" 9/18/2011
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Easily adjustable, responsive, Comfortable straps and footbed
  • Cons:  Paint chips after a while, limited colours,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   These bindings are perfect for an all mountain rider. They have a moderate flex, which is perfect for an intermediate rider who wants to shred the whole mountain. My feet never cramped or got sore, thanks to the generous padding on the straps, they are by far the most comfortable bindings I have ever used. Also, they are very reliable, the straps never come undone, and the bindings stays the way you adjusted it. My only complaint about these is the paint begins to chip off after a few months of riding, this is purely cosmetic, but still not ideal. Overall these are great value bindings for any intermediate rider, great packaged with a sierra board.

"Rome quality, Sierra's graphics." 1/31/2011
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  quite adjustable to fit many boot sizes, durable, a price you can't beat
  • Cons:  they will take some breaking it, limited colorways,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Being an owner of the '07 Rome 390s I was very interested to try the new s90s. For the most part I felt like out of the box they looked like the same binding. Getting them setup correctly took a few shots and some frustration as the screws were pretty hard to get in and out. They first 5 or so runs on them felt different(from adjustments and breaking in) but after that things settled in and the binding felt great! The toe cap was a bit stiff but also breaks in to mold around the boot. Again the first 5 or 6 runs I had some mild ankle pain from the heel strap on my downhill leg but this went away after some minor adjusting. I rode these on a new park oriented board set at (-15 15)

"GREAT" 11/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (7) No

  • Name: Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  FUN, Holds Well,
  • Cons:  More colors would be better, Straps on side Looks weak,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   So i tried this with Sierra's board from my friend. I had really fun time jibbing and playing in the park. It holds the boots well and good price. I would go with this instead of rome Arsenal for cheaper price. It almost felt like Rome 390. However, the straps on sides..looks so weak.. it might not be but.. just worried that it might broke..

Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Easy to set up, Tool free adjustments
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I borrowed these from a friend to ride on for my 1st snowboarding trip. These were comfortable; felt soft...probably because of the sub base pad that comes with them; and easy to set up. You can adjust the straps and the high back lean w/o tools (which is nice). I only rode these once and am a new rider so I don't have any cons right now. Maybe once I ride another pair I'll come back and provide more info. These worked well for my skill level.
