Sierra Says: The F20 is a versatile freestyle boot that is soft enough for jibbing in the park and responsive enough for launching huge in the backcountry. This boot comes equipped with Fusion tech to deliver the best energy transfer from your foot to your boot. You will have precision-timing with any tricks you?re working on while having enough lee-way to catch yourself from falling during sketchy landings. The Impact Outsole will absorb any shock-pressure induced from landing on boxes and rails or when casing a landing in the park. Your feet will stay comfortable and not cramp up no matter how many times you take on hard landings. We recommend this boot for the intermediate to advanced level riders who need extra support and comfort to help them progress their freestyle tendencies.

Salomon Says: Backyard banger style for kids who want to create it on their own, jibs or not.

"Good low profile boots" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Salomon F20
  • Pros:  Low profile, Fast on and off, Good for narrow feet
  • Cons:  Not that warm, Not that comfortable,
  • Fit:  soft
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  12
  • Boot Size:  12 (29.5)

Experience:   I got these because I needed a low profile boot that allowed me to move to a mid wide board (255 ww) rather than than wide boards (260+ ww) that I had been relegated to. I think that the stiffness is actually middle of the road, not as soft as most reviewers indicate, about the same as my previous set of DC ghost boots. I've only ridden on them four days, so they might soften up more but it also might be because I'm tightenting them up more than the other reviewers. Salomon says that the tongue contains a special insert that provides a progressive flex so that the more you tighten these boots the stiffer they will be. In any case I'm very happy with the boots. I like the way look and fit. Most boots seem to be made for people with wider feet, leaving too much room for my narrow feet (especially for size 12). These fit me well. The low profile is legit because these are about an inch shorter than my previous boots allowing me to ride a board that is 10 mm more narrow and still have less toe drag. I also really like the speed lacing system. They are fast on and off and I can really tighten them without hurting my fingers. The only issue that I've had is that they are thinner than most boots that have a removable inner liner, so they are less cushioned and less warm than what I am used to. That is pretty much unavoidable because of the low profile design. This is not a big deal because my feet almost never get cold. Just make sure you wear a set of good socks.

"Like my Salomon F20 boots" 4/14/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Salomon F20
  • Pros:  Comfortable with a lot of flex, No heels leave ever, Love the Power lacing system
  • Cons:  None,
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   Personally I like Salomon powerlace system over BOA or other whatever brand quick lace system. It's so convient and easy to tie on my boots and I don't feel any presure point like BOA boots or easily loosening issue like other quick lace systems boots. The most important thing is this boots is so confortable and I never have sore feet since the first day wearing it.

"Too Soft For me!" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Salomon F20
  • Pros:  Great Feel, Flexible , Good Liner
  • Cons:  Difficult to tighten, Way to soft,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   Great boot if you really like to move around a lot. I personally found these boots to be overly soft lacking in support, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. I just like a much stiffer boot, even for freestyle riding. Otherwise it's a great choice. I like Burton's Ruler lacing system better.

"Good flex" 4/5/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Salomon F20
  • Pros:  good flex, smaller shell than synapse,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9.5
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   My bud bought a pair of these from SS a few weeks ago. I've always heard great things about Salomon boots and how their inner liners are the bee's knees. Very comfy boot with a pretty legit lacing system (I'm used to BOAs). The smaller shell compared to the Synapse lets you throw these into a smaller binding.

"soft flex" 2/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Salomon F20
  • Pros:  low profile, easy to lace, stay tight all day
  • Cons:  to soft(for me) to charge natural terrain,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  11-11.5(29)

Experience:   I bought the f20's because of forum members recommending them as a low profile boot. They certainly are. Width was similar to other boots that I have owned but I moved the straps in one notch on both the toe straps and ankle straps. They are soft. I am almost uncomfortable on natural terrain because I feel like I could hurt my ankles much easier in these compared to a stiffer boot. For park riding they are great. Jibs, small jumps, and backyard sessions. So if you like soft flexing boots that are compact, check these out.

"Very good boot" 2/25/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Salomon F20
  • Pros:  Fit and heel hold, Lacing System, Fusion Tech (Size Reduction)
  • Cons:  Non-articulating Cuff,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  13
  • Boot Size:  13

Experience:   I am very impressed with the F20 boot. Right out of the box these boots are very comfortable. The self molding foam of the liner quickly adapts to the foot and gives a secure feel to the boot. The liner lace system is a single pull style lace. It works ok, but if you have thin calves it can require a tug on the lower laces prior to the hard pull from the top. Once the liner is tight, it is time for the Powerlace outer lace system. Tightening the forefoot is quick and the lace locks allowing you take your time conventionally lacing the shin portion of the boot. My biggest con to these boots is the non-articulating cuff. Meaning when you flex your ankle, the outer boot deforms rather sliding over itself. It is a small detail that hopefully Salomon will eventually upgrade on this boot. The Fusion Liner (or Shrinkage Tech) sort of shows up for me at size 13. My toe and heel overhang has been reduced by .5 compared to my 32 Lashed boots. These are good boots for the price and they work well all over the mountain.

"wish they made a wide version" 2/6/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Salomon F20
  • Pros:  shorter footprint, easy in/out,
  • Cons:  narrow, cold toes,
  • Fit:  soft
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  11
  • Boot Size:  10.5

Experience:   This boot allowed me to size down my binding size and board size because of the shorter footprint. Unfortunately, they are more narrow than most brands. I have slightly wide feet and, after hoping they would pack out after a dozen runs, I can't tolerate the pain. My feet were always kept dry. Lacing system allowed for easy in/out. My toes went numb on two occasions of single digit temps.

"Saloman F20" 2/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Salomon F20
  • Pros:  Its a good stiff boot, snug :), Keeps your feet warm, comfy, Kept me dry all day.
  • Cons:  The foot print ends up being a little large on 12+,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  12
  • Boot Size:  12

Experience:   I've had my boot for a while, and its a good boot. Even when I did something crazy like leave it outside in - temperatures it warmed right up once I was moving. It hasn't let any water seep in dispite me walking through puddles. Good fasteners close up snuggly around my foot, and ankel :) My only issue is having a big foot as I do the foot print of the boot is even larger, and depending on the Board MFG it can stick over the edge. :(
