Mike Says: Companies like Salomon are great because they design different products for different abilities and attitudes. The Salomon Relay Pro binding is designed for riders who demand the most out of their equipment. With Salomon's patented technology, you can expect the Relay Pro to be the best everywhere on the mountain. They are stable on big landings, transfer quickly from edge to edge, are very light weight and are very comfortable! The Relay bindings are all about comfort!

  • Name: Salomon Relay Pro
  • Pros:  very comfortaable, adjustable, responsive
  • Cons:  ratchets not so great,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   These bindings are great for park & pow; hard pack, not so much. They are extremely comfortable and tweakable. The only problem I really had with them was when the toe strap was tightened down a lot, on hard landings the ratchet would pop open and my toes would be loose in the binding. Maybe I just got some bad ratchets?

  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Comfortable, Well known brand
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   I've had these for 3 seasons and they look as good as the day i bought them. It feels like you aren't even wearing bindings, super comfy but very responsive. I recommend them to everyone who asks. Also, since the toe strap does not completely separate, it takes me about half the time to strap in. When these eventually wear out, I plan to purchase another pair.

  • Name: Salomon Relay Pro

  • Pros:  Easy in & out, Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Cons:  Heavy, Poor adjustability
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   This binding is great with the "move with the ankle" hi-back. In case you don't know, the whole hi back moves with your legs and in essence is supposed to keep your legs from fatiguing. I find that at the end of the day, when I am tired, I don't have as much fatigue. I have always loved Salomon binding because I don't ever have to adjust them or tighten them besides the base. But some people might find that annoying. The only thing I didn't like about the 07 ones were that the toe strap wouldn't always go into the little pocket it was supposed to but after seeing the next years model, it looks like they fixed that issue. If you want a binding that is bomb proof and requires very little fuss, this is your binding.

"One of the best bindings" 9/1/2008

  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Easy installation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   These are quite possibly the best bindings i've ever ridden. Super adjustable, super comforable. The relay system is pretty unique. There is no real heelcup - it's a flexible mesh. Instead a cable system provides support and response. The result is a flexible, comfortable binding that you barely feel that provides a range of motion and flexibility for freestyle riding - that still has the response and power you would want in a freeride binding. Extremely light, extremely adjustable.
