"Ouch" 3/13/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Skullcandy Home Brew Audio Kit White/Black
  • Pros:  Good Sound, Can still hear ambient noise ,
  • Cons:  Uncomfortable,

Experience:   These head phones would press against my ears when put in the pockets on my Gyro helmet. I ended up taking them out. They sounded good and allowed me to here what was going on around me.

"Skullcandy!" 11/28/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Skullcandy Home Brew Audio Kit White/Black
  • Pros:  Sound, Usability, conversations
  • Cons:  Set up,

Experience:   I recently bought these while i was in Cali and they were perfest for opening weekend and i love them! They keep it easy to talk with anyone! and sound great!! My only issue is the set up! i dont use a helmet so i accually had a local seamstress sow them into my Empyre hoodie! it costed an extra 10 but it was really worth it!!

"headphones" 11/20/2011

  • Name: Skullcandy Home Brew Audio Kit White/Black
  • Pros:  long cord , acceptable sound ,
  • Cons:  only 1 color ,

Experience:   there are a large number of places that you can pus these speakers but i highly reccomend that you don't put them in your helmet because that will interfere with how it fits on your head . what i suggest you do is if you have a scarf you attach it to the scarf them put it on or even a facemask works the best

"Worst Audio Quality On Earth" 2/9/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: Skullcandy Home Brew Audio Kit White/Black
  • Pros:  nothing,
  • Cons:  Terrible Audio Quality, Poor Construction,

Experience:   As long as you don't care what your music sounds like then these are for you. As with all skullcandy junk these things sound like crap. Skullcandy headphones are super cheap pieces of junk with terrible audio quality & horrible construction made with the cheapest components possible. If You Are In The Market For Headphones or Earbuds DO NOT PURCHASE ANY skullcandy PRODUCTS, They All SUCK! Put Your Hard Earned Money Towards A REAL Pair Of Headphones From A Quality Brand Name.

"Good Sound in your helmet" 1/21/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Skullcandy Home Brew Audio Kit White/Black
  • Pros:  light weight, good sound,
  • Cons:  not marked L or R,

Experience:   These babies zipped right into my RED Mutiny perfectly. Good sound and I am still able to have a conversation without raising my voice or feeling like I am underwater (earbuds).Great replacements for RED or Giro helmets...fit both. Better than stock Pro-Tec. Should fot any helmet with headphone capable ear sets (zippered).Less than $20 its worthy to have ...just in case others crap out.

"speakers for a helmet" 12/10/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Skullcandy Home Brew Audio Kit White/Black
  • Pros:  music on the hill,
  • Cons:  could be better audio quality, dont seem to sit in the earpads right,

Experience:   i have a smith varient helmet these were the speakers smith's website sold for upgrading the helmet for audio. they fit into the earpads on the helmet but they dont seem to sit inbetween the foam like they were meant to, the speakers seem slightly larger, this is no biggie though they work and they dont make the earpads uncomfortable or anything. the audio quality on these is alright its not top notch but its acceptable.

So you have any idea if this would fit in the smith premise? I want an audio kit but i dont want to pay $50 for the full setup they sell with new earpads. I wouldn't mind if I had to make a couple cuts in the earpads to install these.
