"Another great goggle from Smith" 1/17/2011
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Smith Prophecy Snowboard Goggles Black/Red Rise&Fall/Ignitor Mirror Lens Men's
  • Pros:  good field of vision, good fit,
  • Cons:  Lens lets in more light than I thought,

Experience:   My old Von Zippers are getting pretty messed up as my only bluebrid day goggles. I thought it would be a good idea on those hot days to have a spare pair ready to go. My Smith Phenoms with the Sensor Ignitor mirror lens have been amazing, so I definitely wanted a pair of Smith. I got these with the red Sol-x mirror lens and was really surprised how much light it let in. My VZ's with a similar lens (Fire Chrome) are more like sunglasses that REALLY keep the sun out. By the third day with the new Smiths the benefit of improved snow definition and clarity came with a bit more eye fatigue than usual. not saying its bad, just really different. I can see these being a sun n' clouds goggle for me and keeping the VZ's for the days without a cloud in the sky. Still really happy with the new Prophecy goggles, though.

  • Name: 2012 Smith Prophecy Snowboard Goggles Men's
  • Pros:  Great Fit,
  • Cons:  changing lenses - need to be careful,

Experience:   I recently purchased this google and used it for a week in Hokkaido Japan. Snowing / Blizzard every day and this google handled the snow really well. I also wear the Smith Vantage helmet and these two items fit together really well.

"Great goggles in all light conditions" 3/28/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Smith Prophecy Snowboard Goggles Men's
  • Pros:  Sensor lens very good in all light conditions, Fits head and helmet real well for medium, Good field of vision
  • Cons:  Can fog if goggle not adjusted right,

Experience:   I just got this goggle this year and the sensor lenses have become my use any day lens type for all conditions. Be it sunny, powder, cloudy, whiteout, etc.; these goggles have handled it. It fits my medium sized head well and I get a good field of vision, no issues in seeing where I want to go. Only thing you need to worry about is that it can fog at times if your setting on the venting is off. I generally put mines centered and it's fine. If it gets too far left or right, it can cause the lens to fog, so just watch out for that. Otherwise, this lens works in all conditions that I need it. Just awesome.

"Be careful of the colorway" 12/20/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Smith Prophecy Snowboard Goggles Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Ventilation,
  • Cons:  volume,

Experience:   I wear glasses and purchased these because they are specifically mentioned as being OTG compatible. I wear fairly small framed glasses and still there was pressure on the glasses' frame. I dug out my emergency/spare pair of glasses and it was a little better but still my glasses were being pulled off of my head when I took the goggles off. Finally, and this is what sealed the return, was what seemed to be a reflection of the goggle frame (I had gotten white frames) into the Sensor Mirror lens. So, for me, the fit was bad and finally the distraction of the reflection in the lens. Very disappointed. YMMV
