"Freedom Fit 4 snowboarders" 3/25/2014
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Special Blend Utility Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  fit (baggy), performance, durable fabric/construction
  • Cons:  too many pockets, big flaps, weak plastic snaps
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  relaxed/baggy

Experience:   Love the freedom fit on this jacket - it's baggy and long, but doesn't look like you're wearing a size too big. The fabric is relatively thick, so you don't have to worry about it ripping on a branch your first day in the glades. It's got a micro-fleece collar and a beefy front zipper that won't get all jammed up on you if you look at it wrong. The powder skirt is also welcomed, but the snapped they put on this are really small and cheap feeling (had to take a star off for that). No one need this many pockets (unless they plan on carting around groceries), but I can live with that. Thought I got an incredible deal at $100, but it's now going for $80...what are you waiting for?!

"Love this jacket!" 11/2/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Special Blend Utility Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  Warm, Pockets Galore,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  XL
  • Description:  Jacket is defintely a baggy fit

Experience:   I initially saw an ad for this jacket in a snowboard magazine and instantly the jacket stuck out to me. I read a ton of reviews and thankfully saw that this jacket ran large so when I ordered mine I ordered a Medium instead of a Large like I normally wear. I am so happy I did that because one size down for me fits like a normal jacket. This jacket feels great going down the slopes because I do not feel restricted like I tend to feel in other jackets. Really warm so not a spring time jacket but kept me warm in freezing temperatures.

"Rad Jacket!" 3/3/2014
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Special Blend Utility Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  stylish, tons of pockets, great price
  • Cons:  runs big,
  • Jacket Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Runs big - needed to order a size down

Experience:   My previous jacket was a Special Blend in a size S and it fit me perfectly. I ordered this jacket in a S thinking it would fit similarly but it was too big. It fit more like a M. So I ended up ordering an XS and it was just right. I like my jackets pretty simple so I ordered the black and it is slick. It is a shell but still keeps you toasty. On cold days I'll run this jacket over a base layer and a hoodie and I am good to go. Finally, the price from TruSnow was a steal at nearly half off. As long as you keep in mind that it runs big, you can't go wrong with this jacket!

"Great jacket, on the loose side though" 9/29/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Special Blend Utility Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  Pockets Galore, Very waterproof, Vents
  • Cons:  A little baggy,
  • Jacket Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Baggy

Experience:   Unfortunately I bought this online so I didn't realize exactly how loose it was. Order a size down if you're average-built. It's fine on the mountain with baggy pants but it's a little excessive for street-wear unless you're a husky person. Plenty of pockets, you can fit all of your electronics, plus your beer for the lifts. Extremely dry, I rode for about 4 hours in rain and was still pretty damn dry after.

"Freedom Fit" 5/31/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Special Blend Utility Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  15,000 waterproof / 10,000 breathability, comfortable, warm for a shell
  • Cons:  big and baggy,
  • Jacket Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  XL
  • Fits Like:  XXL
  • Description:  Big / Baggy

Experience:   Just got his jacket today. I noticed as soon as I opened the package that the jacket is a high quality piece of gear. Very comfortable, very baggy fit, looks awesome. I got the Early Lineup Red Army and the pictures don't do it justice. It looks awesome in person. Removable hood, removable powder skirt, a ton of pocekts, and since it's a shell, you can layer up as much as you need to, or, where a thin base layer under the jacekt.

"Good" 12/31/2010

  • Name: Special Blend Utility Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  Warm, TONS of pockets,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Great, just slightly baggy

Experience:   I got this jacket about a year ago and I'm still finding pockets on it. You will never run out of room to store stuff in. A little on the baggy side but still a good fit, and pretty warm.
