"The best way to start snowshoeing! Tubbs’ Xplore series is the lightweight, easy-to-use answer for the value-conscious adventurer wanting to try or experience the great sport of snowshoeing. The dependable Quick Fit™ binding is easier to use this year and wraps a wide variety of winter boot styles and sizes for men and women. Carbon steel toe and heel crampons keep you feeling secure on your journey, and the biomechanically-designed Fit-Step™ frame will keep you moving forward in comfort and confidence."
"The Tubbs Xplore Snowshoe Kit Includes:
One pair of Xplore Snowshoes
One pair of 2-part adjustable Tubbs Snowshoe Poles
One pair of Tubbs Snowshoe Gaiters
Key Features of the Tubbs Xplore Snowshoes:
Fit-Step Frame: The innovative and biomechanical aluminum Fit-Step™ frame, designed with a slightly upturned, rounded tail, reduces muscular skeletal impact on hip, knee and ankle joints by 10%.
Rotating Toe Cord: Rotating Toe Cord design enables the tail of the snowshoe to drop and snow to shed off the tail, reducing cardio-respiratory strain by 7%. The underfoot pivot point also allows the toe traction teeth to bite deeply into the snow when weighted.
Recreational Crampon: Carbon steel toe and heel crampons feature front and rear braking teeth for a secure grip uphill, downhill and side hill in packed snow conditions.
Quick Fit Binding: The Quick Fit™ binding leverages Tubbs’ proprietary Control Wing™ technology and features a trouble-free single pull system for easy adjustment to a wide array of men’s and women’s boot sizes and styles.
SoftTec Decking: Tubbs SoftTec™ decking provides durable, lightweight flotation.

"Great for backcountry if your ultimate goal is the downhill powder runs" 7/22/2014
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Tubbs Xplore Snowshoes
  • Pros:  great on the downhill,
  • Cons:  not so good from point A to point B,

Experience:   A truly opt6imal turning / touring hybrid back=country ski. Adventurous, thrill seeking skiers looking to execute superb and natural downhill telemark turns, best-in-class flotation in deep snow, while also allowing for touring without requiring climbing skins as an absolute necessity, will find a new best friend in the Rossignol BC 110 backcountry-telemark skis. With a 110mm-78mm-95mm sidecut profile (ski width dimensions at tip, middle and tail of ski), full-length metal edges and a round flex with a single camber, the Rossignol BC110 is a true telemark ski that turns naturally in all conditions and terrain -- from soft, fresh deep snow to icy hardpack. The wide platform, rocker-tipped design is ideal because it planes out and turns much more manageably and controlled - even at high speeds - than the narrower, stiff-cambered BC / telemark skis of yesteryear. Featuring the advanced, proprietary Rossignol Skis Positrack waxless base pattern, the Rossignol BC 110 skis offer the ability to efficiently kick and glide in backcountry touring mode along the flats and rollers, as well as the ability to climb long and steep hills without the hassle of first applying climbing skins. The premium air channel wood core keeps overall weight down, resulting in much better efficiency when gravity isn’t helping you along. Combine with any backcountry-telemark ski bindings and stiffer flex ski boots for sweet, all-mountain performance. Virtually maintenance free waxless skis, I recommend simply applying a quick coat of liquid glide wax before each outing to improve ski glide and prevent snow from sticking to ski bases.

  • Name: Tubbs Xplore Snowshoes
  • Pros:  Super Durable, Lightweight,

Experience:   The simple foot straps make these shoes a breeze to get into when its time to hit the snow trails. The durable construction will stand up to any trail. I am a huge fan off Tubbs, all of their products are built super well, I am definitely looking forward to getting another pair for my brother. I can't image hiking without these... if you have snowshoed before, definitely spend a day and see for yourself how awesome it is!

  • Name: Tubbs Xplore Snowshoes
  • Pros:  Easy on off, light weight, clean design
  • Cons:  there are better bindings out there,

Experience:   I've rented these several times and always enjoyed them. My experience was with 30 and 36 on trails and back country. Mostly back country. Originally I had visions of floating atop the snow. It's not quite that easy but definitely way nicer to hike with snowshoes than without in all snow depths and conditions. I'm 6'1 220-230 lbs depending on the time of year. I found that the 30 size was perfect for me. Kept me floating pretty well and was still maneuverable. The 36 was good, a little better float, but I felt like I needed to watch my step with the extra size. Where with the 30 it was easy to forget they were on until I was hopping into the truck. The bindings are fine, way better than anything out there 5-10 years ago. Now a days though there are a few more options so these seem slow. But truthfully they tighten up with a tug and come off just as easily. They stay snug all day long. You can spend much more, but unless you need snowshoes to survive in the wilderness, these are a great value.
