Likes: Tubbs makes quality, entry-level gear that will get you and your snowboard into the BC. In my experience, it's not the lightest or the most tech out there, but it is solid, will last a long time (and maybe longer than you want if you want to upgrade) and is always available at cheap prices. Also, older shoes and poles are always good to have laying around in case you want to take friends or visitors on a quick snowshoe trip to share the stoke, if they aren't winter sports enthusiasts they're generally not going to have their own stuff.
