Sierra Says: You asked for it and you shall receive. Everything you love about the Contact like the only 19% binding to board contact, providing a universal, and superior substitute to EST, but with added multi density for more response and comfort. Also the Pro adds a more responsive highback making this binding perfect for someone whose looking for performance as well as a lightweight minimalistic feel.

  • Name: Union Contact Pro
  • Pros:  Responsive, High Back, Straps
  • Cons:  Toe Strap,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   A great binding for every rider. The high back looks like it can't hold anything but is highly responsive. Padding is good and feels great on the landings, but the toe strap is a little sketchy. Overall, it is very good.

  • Pros:  light weight, responsive, minimalist
  • Cons:  toe strap,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I had a chance to do a few short runs in these bindings and in contrast to what I've heard many people say, I did not like them. I was wearing boots with a very rounded toe and the toe strap would not stay in place--unless I cranked it down so hard that it pinched my toes. Very responsive binding for being of such minimal design. High back has perfect blend of flex and responsiveness. I wonder if I wore a boot with a better toe seam if these would be as great as other reviews say they would be.

"Contact Pro" 4/28/2011

  • Name: Union Contact Pro
  • Pros:  Light weight, Good flex, Good High Back
  • Cons:  $$$, Poor high back lean adjustment, Constructions
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   This is Union's Gigi Ruf pro model. Triple zone bushing system provide excellent damping and feel towards board flex. The 3 separate zones matches great with any rocker or rocker/camber deck. The binding is very light overall. I had to replace one of the foot beds after 6 days of riding, because there was a crack near the screw insert. They didn't use the best material for that. The toe straps came undone a few times when I was riding. This could be due to the bindings being new at the time, and still needed to break them in. Although this might be the case, it shouldn't happen to more expensive/high quality bindings. The fancy stitchings on the straps are coming apart after one season of riding, and the cloth on it had started to rip. Overall, this is a great binding in terms of performance, but it is lacking a little in the construction department. They used a very durable material (Zytel) for the base and high back, but bindings are not complete without proper straps to put your feet in.

  • Pros:  Smooth, Light, Comfy

Experience:   I run these daily and I love them. I run forces as well and these have all of the qualities of the forces with added lightness and comfort. You won't regret these for all mountain, park, whatever...

"Union Bindings are soo goood!" 11/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Union Contact Pro
  • Pros:  nice flex , Comfortable,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Union makes a lot of good bindings. It has great cushion underfoot and definitely helps the board flex better. It's about the same weight as the Force MC, but a little softer so it's more comfortable for me. I really liked the look of the highback but I was questioning its strength and performance until I rode it. Now I know the highback looks the best and rides the best of all the unions I have tried. If I were you, I would buy this binding. It will make you smarter. Great ratchets, comfy straps, cushy base.

"Great board feel" 11/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Union Contact Pro
  • Pros:  Great feel and forgiveness, comfy heel strap, eva foam everywhere, super lite, great hardware
  • Cons:  toe strap is only so so,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   I rated these a soft flex but they are still pretty resposive. I can't stress how lite they are yet they feel really solid. If the toestrap was better they would get a 5+ especially for the price tag.
