Union Data

Sierra Says: One of Union’s original models, the Data is back again to meet the demand. This binding is the epitome of comfort, but that is not its only great quality; it also comes well equipped with a stiffer chassis and aluminum heelcup to supply rapid response when going edge to edge. We recommend this binding for the intermediate to advanced shredders who do not hold back and like to take their riding from the backcountry trees to the booters in the park. If your looking for a blend of comfort and response in a binding then check out the Data.

Union Says: Completely cush and supremely stylish, the Data utilizes super-plush footbeds, vibration-dampening injected EVA bushings, and exquisitely comfortable 3D multi-layer straps. In fact the Data could quit possibly the most comfortable-riding snowboard binding ever built. Enjoy.

"Really Comfortable" 1/12/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Union Data
  • Pros:  Easy To Adjust, Really Confortable, Good Support
  • Cons:  Buckles can stick, Toe ramps kind of flimsy,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I really like these bindings. They are really comfortable, easy to adjust. I never have problems with the hardware coming loose like some people say they have. The only bad things about them are the buckles can stick when you are unstrapping. Also the toe ramps feel like they have the potential to break.

"Get STONED" 9/19/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Union Data
  • Pros:  Look Dope, Nice flex, Ultra Durable
  • Cons:  U don't own em yet,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   The Data is the theme binding in the Union line. Essentially it's a Force with cosmetic upgrades. The only real difference is in the highback, and with the Data it's a dual layer highback, meaning it's a tad stiffer than the Forces. Oh and the padding. The Data's have thicker highback and gas pedal padding so it will absorb the vibrations better. The rasta binding is actually stone washed before assembly. This treatment gives it it's Irie flair. Actually it gives it a really soft touch. And the pin stripe is a follow up to last years white and blue.

Experience:   Got that Custom House Team Data and mixed it up with some forces. basically just swapped basetray. Best bindings I've ridden. So Unions will always be in my arsenal.

"Solid Design With A Little Bling" 7/19/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Union Data
  • Pros:  Solid Baseplate, Comfortable Highback & Footbed, Smooth Ratchets & Padded Straps
  • Cons:  Toe Strap Arrangement,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I purchased this bindings just prior to the start of the Australian season. I had an opportunity to ride it on a K2 WWW Rocker board most recently. Once it was bolted up to the board, it was only a little fuss getting it to fit my Nitro Team TLS boots. The heelcup is very adjustable, along with all the straps, highback and footbed, making for a well designed, no nonsense binding. Based upon the solid Union Force binding, the Data adds a touch of bling along with subtle extra padding in the ankle strap and highback. Therefore I can only assume that it performs similarly to the Force but with a more comfortable approach. I suspect this binding can handle everything you can throw at it, with the acception of backcountry steeps. My one gripe is the toe strap arrangement, thus far I am unsure whether my concerns are due to my set up or my setting up of the binding. Trying to anchor the toe strap over the toes resulted in the strap dislodging and coming to rest in the top of the toe of my boots. Not a fault as such, as the strap never failed or loosened off, but a slight nuisance. This is a binding I wouldn't hesitate suggesting to everyone, although price may dictate the market!

"Great binding, but very similar to forces" 1/20/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Union Data
  • Pros:  Very simple, easy adjustments, durable, responsive
  • Cons:  not as adjustable as other bindings, ratchets slip sometimes, toe caps didnt fit properly on my boot
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I own the blue/white pinstripe datas from 09 and they are a great binding, though the toe caps did not fit correctly (believe me, I tried every possible way), and would slip off. So I just replaced them with burton toe caps, and they have been great ever since. Responsive, extremely durable. I ride mostly park and it was the perfect flex. Word of advice, if you are planning to resell these bindings take care of the fabric covering the highbacks, as they can fray easily and make it look more used than it really is.

"absolute ripper of a bindings" 10/24/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Union Data
  • Pros:  very comfy,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   These bindings are a ripper. They are so comfy. Very easy to strap on and strap off. The buckles are really strong and don't look like they will will be breaking any time soon. Two words: 'get em!'
