"Great Boarding Boot" 12/26/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Vans Aura
  • Pros:  Light weight, Very comfortable ,
  • Cons:  Very Bulky,
  • Fit:  stiff
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   Very high quality boot with a very comfortable inner boot. It is also light weight especially for a boot with 2 BOA's. Putting my foot into the boot was also very easy compared to some other boots I tried on with the same size. Dual Boa's are very convenient and depending on the riding style, you can make it fit to your desire. It is a very bulky boot but still light weight for how much space it takes up.

"Great boots that do everything" 11/6/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Vans Aura
  • Pros:  Double Boa, easy to get in and out and adjust, Very comfortable and warm, Mid range flex, so good for just about anything
  • Cons:  Needed J Bars to get good heel hold, Wide footprint, hard to get into narrow bindings, 2011 styles a little bit dull
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  9.5

Experience:   Great value for a double boa boot that is tough, reliable and useful for just about anything. The styled for 2011 are a little bit boring but if you want a boot that will do it all then you have it in this one. With mid flex and three zone boa lacing you can really dial in tight for high response or you can realease a zone or two for a softer, more forgiving ride. These really are boots that can go through powder or the park without much fuss. I found the fit in the boot was good but the heel hold with just the liner wasn't good enough. That was probably the main drawback but a set of J-bars gives it more than enough heel hold. I also have found that the footprint is pretty wide and it really fills out narrower bindings. Where I used to be able to fit in a medium binding most times now I find I have to consider a size up or have to deal with squeezing in. After a couple of weeks breaking them in around the house they are warm, comfortable and probably the only boot I have worn where I can happilty leave them on all day with comfort. If nothing else appeals then the convenience of boa lacing should. While others struggle with laces or bust a sphincter getting quick laces tight enough I spend about a minute effortlessly dailing in or seconds releasing and getting them off at the end of the day.

"awesome boots!" 8/22/2011

  • Pros:  Dual boa, heel hold,
  • Cons:  none,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  12

Experience:   These boots deliver! I was weary of buying boa after using traditional laces for years and reading horror stories online but was pleasantly surprised on how well the boa held up and if it needs tightening its just a quick turn of the wheel... I have had plenty of lace breaks(actually prone to it) and with cables I dont think ill have that issue anymore... all around worth it with a huge discount i got it for half price

"Great convenience for those with wider feet" 12/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Vans Aura
  • Pros:  Wide fit, warm, waterproof
  • Cons:  BOA can stick sometimes, no BOA repair tool included,
  • Fit:  stiff
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  12
  • Boot Size:  12

Experience:   I'm very fond of these boots, to the point that if I saw a pair on clearance in my size I'd snatch them up to have as a spare without thinking twice. They have a widish fit, which fits me perfectly, especially after adding in a pair of red superfeet. The BOA gets you set up quickly while others are still fiddling with their laces, and you can make small adjustments through your pants, with mittens on. It's very convenient and especially nice when it's dumping out. I do wish they would have supplied the BOA repair tool with this as other manufacturers do; I've had mine jam twice, and the tool was necessary to get it put back together. The repair itself was easy and quick, but you need the tool to open them up.

"2011 Looks Good for VANS" 7/22/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Vans Aura
  • Pros:  soft inner, snug inner, lower zone tightening
  • Cons:  getting in getting out (initially),
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  9

Experience:   Sierra World - look forward to 2011 VANS Aura ... I was sneaky enough to snag a pair for myself. I am normally a DC dual zone BOA boot wearer, so I thought these would be right up my alley. And I was right ... I am size 9 (26cm) and the fit is good. I have a wider than normal foot as well. Compared to other boots I have tried this year, the biggest advantage with this boot is a very simple feature. The lower lacing on the inner boot has its own tab for tightening permitting a really good snug fit to hold down your heel. The inner boot is really soft as well and the tightening mechanism used is unique and effective. The BOA works well, allowing precision tightening. I am a BOA convert so my opinion is a little biased. But the freedom the mechanism allows you to get the fit just perfect is a great advantage for any rider. Especailly come the time when you have a break, you simply pop both wheels and instance relief of pressure and comfort - important to manage those long days. You can wear them all night as the are not too outageous and offer a good apre comfort. Getting in getting out for the first few times was a little challenging, but them I worked out the all the functions of the boot and found the proper way to enter and exit the boot.
