Make sure you use it in nose to tail motions not circular or edge to edge.

As far as the hot wax scrape its just a normal wax then scrape off the excess.

To those of you that use rub on wax that is NOT a replacement for hot waxing at all. It does not go into the pores of the base nearly as much, does not last as long, does not clean the base like a good hot wax does( hot waxing pulls up stuff from the base another reason why you scrape), and will not be thick enough to protect your base from drying over the summer.

I just hope TruSnow stocks up on some wax irons asap season is approaching.

I also still have the plastic sleave for my board, so I can put that in there as well.

My question is, how to actually position my board so it doesn't loose camber or anything like that. I have room in my garage, but it get's over 110degrees in the summer here in Vegas, so I'd rather keep it in my bedroom closet. If I do that, I will most likely have it propped up on it's tail or nose against the wall. Is that going to cause it to loose it's camber? Should I store it on it's toe or heel edge instead?

Having a base bevel of 2+ degrees (all the way to 3) is really great for freestyle riders who don't want to catch their edge on jibs and rails. Vice versa, riders who want to be able to hold a tight edge while carving generally have a lower beveled edge. To answer your question about not knowing the bevel degree you have, I would search around by googling your board specs. If nothing comes up, it won't hurt your board by deciding the new bevel degree you want for yourself.

Here's a pretty legit site on finding the beveled edge degree that fits your style of riding- Edge Angles

Shops or resorts usually do quick tune. Here's how.
1. Have a local shop perform a basic snowboard tune and wax.
Thissimple end-of-the-season task (about US$20) will clean off any dirt andrust, and will prepare your snowboard for next winter. You'll alsoavoid the beginning-of-the-season rush on snowboard tunes -- a shop canonly tune so many boards in a day.

2. Do it yourself -- a snowboard cleanup and hot wax at home.
Ifthe base of your board is dirty, purchase a general base cleaner atyour local board shop. Follow the instructions on the bottle to cleanthe base of your snowboard. Then apply a coat of hot wax. You don't need to scrape the wax until next winter, then give it a quick scrape and you'll be ready to go.

3. Bindings

It is fine to leave the bindings mounted to your snowboard. If youremove them, be sure to keep a record of your stance width and anglesfor reference next winter.

4. Storage
Store your snowboard out of direct sunlight -- ina closet or under the bed is fine. Avoid stacking heavy items on top ofyour board because you could flatten out the camber.

Applying a fresh coat of hot wax every few times you ride is ideal. Or if you notice that your board's base looks especially dry or seems to be running slow, now is a good time for a hot wax.

There are four things you will absolutely need:

Wax: be sure to buy ski or snowboard wax that is designed to be applied with a hot iron. There are plenty of choices, but a good all-temperature wax will work well in most snow conditions.

Scraper: pick this up at your favorite board shop along with the wax. Plastic or metal scrapers are both fine, just avoid really wide scrapers that are sometimes marketed for snowboards - they don't scrape as well as the smaller ones.
zSB(3,3)

Iron: now might be a good time to invest in an iron designed especially for waxing skis and snowboards. These are smooth on the bottom and therefore apply a nice smooth coat of wax. Or you can go down to your nearest Salvation Army or Goodwill and pick up a used household iron for a few bucks.

Scotchbrite: these rough green pads are available at any grocery store next to the kitchen sponges.

Some optional but helpful items:

Base Cleaner: if your snowboard's base is dirty, clean it using a base cleaner (find this at your board shop) and a rag before you hot wax it.

Vises: setting up a workbench makes tuning and waxing your board much easier. Vises are available that hold your snowboard in place while you work.

Lets get started:

1. Drip

Put down an old sheet or some newspaper to catch dripping wax. Then put your board base-up on your new vises (see optional items) or on some books.

Plug in your iron and set it to a medium heat. It should be hot enough to readily melt the wax, but not so hot that the wax smokes. Hold the iron perpendicular to your snowboard with the pointed side down. Press the wax bar against the hot iron and hold it there. As the wax drips, move the iron up and down the base of your board until you have stripes of dripped wax 1 to 2 inches apart. Set the wax aside.

2. Iron

Now iron in all that wax until the base of your board is fully covered. Keep the iron moving; leaving it in one area for too long can damage the snowboard.

3. Scrape

Turn off the iron and wait 15 to 20 minutes for the wax to set and cool. Now grab the scraper and scrape off any excess wax in a nose to tail motion. Scraping away all the wax may sound counter-productive, until you realize that a hot wax actually opens up the pores in a snowboard's base where you want wax to go. Excess wax will only slow you down.

4. Buff

After scraping, rub the scotchbrite pad in a nose to tail motion to take off the last of the wax and give your board a finishing touch. You are now ready to ride.
