Unless all you want to ride is one chair lift up to thunder mtn and ride maybe 4-6 trails, Baldy is going to be pretty bald even with the amount of snow they are expecting, it's not enough to provide a nice coverage to hit tree runs. Also, chair 4 is closed and my 100% bet is that it will remain closed.

it's there during the weekend too...and it depends on the lifty if it's enforced or not. Some lifties will actually make the person without a helmet go to the back of the line, while other lifties don't even care.

Mostly though, the helmet line was emptier than the rest and we did go through it a couple of times, but the singles was always faster.

Well, for me I hate crowds. If there's a helmet line, that's cool and I'll set it up.

well the helmet line isn't necessarily faster because they're allowing the line with helmets to move faster...usually this line is more emptier than the others so you move quicker when they let the mass of ppl go through.

Singles line is usually the fastest on super crowded days, but with how the weather has been, the resorts are not crowded at all. I rolled up at 11am today and was able to find parking and get tons of laps in.

I would, but currently too much going on for me to leave this week. Let us know how crowded it gets...hopefully only the core folks get out, but I'm afraid you're going to run into all the out of school crowd and any other pass holders chasing the storm.

just heard this morning. Mt High is closed today. Snow summit is closed as well. Only Big Bear is open right now. and the forecasts i see dont say its snowing, it says rain. except for wednesday morning when it dips in the 20s, then its rain the rest of wed.

Mt High is saying they'll get some snow too on Wed and Thurs. I'm gonna make it up hopefully for those two days. Maybe tomorrow and Tuesday too, if they open...although looking at the playground cam, the base is not looking good.

I'll be there tom night!! well I normally get there around 4 ish..until 8..some parts are icy..but last sat night was pow..loved it..hopefully tomorrow won't be as bad..

the line's so much better on late days to nights..literally it will take you 30 seconds to a minute at express.. better than the 30 minute (UNDERSTATEMENT!) wait during day time

Yes the Mt High pass has no restriction so anyone with the pass can go whenever they want.

I don't usually like nights due to the ice, but I guess it'll be good for getting better. Need to ride all sorts of conditions to get good.

The first time I went up I was at summit and it was before bear open so they had only like 1 run open and it was pretty crowded then. The week after when I went the lines weren't to bad because bear and summit were open and there were multiple chairs open too. If you were to go midweek you would probably have the place to yourself

Good ending to a bad situation...did you use a board lock at all? Just wondering if thieves are still using mini diagonal cutters...and just shows if people want it, they will figure out how to get it. Sucks...

Mt. High Saturday night was AMAZING!! got there around 4 ish..30 second wait to express..pretty rad really..then around 7ish, it started snowing..fresh pow, it was great! wind came in though and it was just blowing..by 8, we were all done! I saw A LOT of Sierra boards that night..especially Stunts..saw at least 4.

BboyTommy, in regards to my bro's joystick..after the board was stolen I told my bro, watch it will be on craigslist..Lo and behold..it was posted on CL at 2:05 PM..2 hrs after being jacked..smh..soo I contacted the guy pretended that I'm interested..it was blatant..I told him to send me a pic..which obviously he did..my bro placed this one specific unique sticker as his "identifier"..once I received the culprit's email..I saw my brother's board! bastard! burton boards (I'm not sure if all) are serialized..so good thing he has the serial for it..called Covina PD since I got hook ups there..met the culprit at some starbucks..and had the cops deal with him..checked out the board and serial..along with my bro's serial..everything's a match..so we got it back..LOTS! of work dude for real.

Mt High season pass holders get 2 free 8hr ticket with restrictions...you could prob find those on CL for $30 each. Other than that you can check out Ralphs since they sell vouchers as well as Sport Chalet. If you plan on going up often get the 6 pack that they offer which comes out to $30 per day.

I vote for 1 day powder notice, but because it's not as convenient, and it's just an initial meet up, either mtn will just be a day to meet some members and get some early riding in. From there, hopefully a Mammoth trip will be in the works...

Mt High is the most convenient, Bear is a bigger mtn, but for Dec, it doesn't really matter. So, convenience over anything else for now.

Baldy is going to suck in Dec. Baldy, honestly is only good when there's fresh pow. When it dumps, I am more than happy to drive 2 1/2 hours to Baldy over 6+ to Mammoth any day.

The only thing that sucks about Baldy is no real maintained park. It's mainly all-mtn and natural terrain jibbing. It's still fun! If you've been to June Mtn (20 min north of Mammoth) you'll like Baldy.

So, we'll save Baldy for a Jan or Feb meet up....more likely a 1 day notice trip.
