It's on netflix streaming. It looked like a lot of work with the industrial&nbsp;machines in the Burton factory. I think it would be much more difficult and time consuming doing this on your own, but I also don't think it would really feel like work. Kinda like how waxing/tuning my boards doesn't feel like work.]]>

His dad does a lot of construction and woodwork but I am not sure if he has the right tools. My uncle works at a lumber yard and he can cut me wood pretty much to whatever thickness I need. We saw somewhere online that poplar is a good wood.]]>

The cost is a lot higher than just buying a nice board that will work.&nbsp;<div>You need to have a full work shop. I was pricing it about $700-1000 for the first board. &nbsp;If you want to do it, get a few friends who also want to make a board.</div><div>My guess is about 3 boards you need to get it a usable. &nbsp;</div>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.trusnow.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=50288" rel="nofollow">spenser</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 52872<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> Nov/15/2012 at 7:46pm<br /><br />you don't need big machines to do it. &nbsp;if you are crafty you can make it happen. &nbsp;for laminating the layers, there are vacuum bags instead of presses. &nbsp;the rest is just cutting, drilling, etc.. you just have to be good with your hands and a few basic tools for the most part. &nbsp;there are also places to buy stock snowboard parts.. inserts, edges, fiberglass, ptex for the base, topsheet material, etc.<div><br></div><div>the hard part is knowing how your design/material layup is going to turn out as far as the flex/etc of the board. &nbsp;different fiberglass and resins yield different flexes, different sidecuts affect how it turns, so on and so forth.</div>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.trusnow.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=86065" rel="nofollow">snowj720</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 52872<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> Nov/15/2012 at 7:32pm<br /><br />The problem with making your own board is that you need a bunch of machinery to make it, which is expensive (unless you do some old burton/snurfer design).&nbsp; If someone goes as far as to get all the stuff to do it right they're probably making more than just a board.<DIV>&nbsp;From what I remember all the equpment for a turnkey board making operation is about 20k.&nbsp; Doubt too many people here have actually gotten the chance to make there own board. </DIV><DIV>Hit up Doug on the Thrive page or give a shout to the guys at Marhar (out of MI), they're doing it and doing it well.&nbsp;&nbsp;In the meantime do a youtube search for making a board, I know there's something out there about the subject.</DIV>]]>
