Definately A. but let her go and try on boots herself... go with her and foot the bill... a bad pair of boots makes riding harder. Take my story for example i was considering a pair of 32 boots for ages... went to the shop and tried them on... didnt like them so then i tried on some burton poachers they were a perfect fit... and they were 60 dollars cheaper and i feel like i enjoy riding more because i tried on almost every pair of boots they had in the shop... don't ever buy an LTR they're probably the worst built board out there, I've worked with them for 5 year total POS.

I'd go with A. When I started out I get everything and anything affordable because I was new to the sport and didn't know that I will fully like snowboarding. There are tonnes of places in Toronto, whereabouts are you going?  Downtown?  There are a lot of options for you actually.  Google "snowboard shops downtown toronto" and you'll find the addresses for Sanction, Skiis n Biikes, Hogtown, Boardsports, Meltdown, and MEC too.  

I usually go to Sanction up in Thornhill.  Meltdown has a crazy sale every year too: http://www.canadasnowboardclearance.com/

If you can go to that sale this weekend, you'd be VERY happy with the deals.  That's where I got my Vapor and C60 combo (50-60% off retail).  I ordered my Brainbucket helmet from Empire in Qc.

That's a good reminder, I need to get me some vball pads..sometimes i just kneel on the hills to wait for newbs. getting old and knees can't take the pain no more.

Can't agree with this more. I would spend the most time/money on nice boots that fit her well. The pants and gloves- no matter how nice they are, they are going to be soaked with her being in contact with the snow so much while learning. Good idea of the impact shorts, makes a huge difference. Might want to also look into wrist guards. 

If I were you and on a budget, I would just try to borrow as much gear from other others as possible, and just buy her the impact shorts, wrist guards and boots. Oh the joys of teaching a new GF how to ride. You know you love the sport when you're willing to buy all her gear just so she can get started :)

Yes, this is a VERY valid point!  I can't believe I forgot about the helmet, that's definitely something I got my gf too and it has been a life saver!  Now she never rides without one.

I'd go with option A. I really don't think the board will make the difference esp if you're still learning, Being comfortable and warm her being worried about getting hurt, she'll enjoy the experience a lot more.
takes a while to tweak what you really want in terms of hard goods. It takes a lot of trial and error, borrowing from friends and trying gear from demos or w/e

I got him too, but I've already locked up the win.  Need him to put up some points next week though if I want to make it to the next round haha.  Got good matchups for weeks 15/16, just need to get through 14.

Unfortunately for this week, Eli always seems to have trouble vs. the skins.

But back to answering your question, if she's already got the boots, I'd recommend a combination of a nicer board + gloves/mitts, unless shes prone to getting cold legs.

I think boots are the make/break piece of equipment when it comes to a day of riding.  Dunno if she already has a pair, or if she was going to rent or what.  But if you have a pair that don't fit your feet well, you're not gonna have a lot of fun no matter how warm you are.

I did realize that so I have showed her what she could get and looking to see what she likes...pretty sneaky, so those are the options I have found.  We are going for new years and I want her to be prepared for it, instead of just throwing a bunch of stuff together. After spending the while looking into things to get my gf started would be better to get her:
A) Nice warm pants, goggles, good gloves, impact pants and a starter board like the morrow lotus or a board around that price
OR
B) A nicer board such as the burton lux V and the warm pants
OR
C) A brand new board such as the burton feather, flow velvet, roxy olie pop.  

I want her to enjoy snowboarding, she liked the rental just scared to get hurt from falling.  
We are going to be doing groomed surfaces, Im leaning towards the full package for her to enjoy snowboarding, but im sure she'll pick up the impact pants no matter what.  So it comes down to is getting a little better board going to make the experience that much better?
