i think 686 makes excellent stuff. they don't seem to have much of a sale on last year's Smarty line, which is a shame. but you can't go wrong with anything Smarty. i have the Smarty Troop pants and jacket from last year and they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarm and waterproof as hell. i also used to have a Bonfire jacket that i really liked, their stuff tends to be cheaper than 686. not as warm or taped. but still good.

different end of the spectrum, but the Holden Tack pants are great.

and of course, every bit i mentioned looks good.

i like 686 too. i checked out their new smarty jacket and pants a few days ago. really nice. i will switch to 686 when my current pants/jacket needs replacing.

you can try your luck on ebay for a setup for 300. or if you are near sierrasnowboard, go to their sale this weekend.

They have a ton of both 686 and Bonfire in right now.  I would recommend both of these companies.  I have rocked 686 for about 8 years now, but haven't been SUPER impressed by their waterproofness, but I still love their stuff.  Bonfire actually has some stuff this year that is GORE-TEX, which I'm definitely diggin', but it surely isn't cheap.  Both are great companies.  You should private message one of the staff for some info on what they have in from either company.

Will they have the rest of the outerwear online this weekend? All I see is Burton, and that's not on sale.

You guys just need to private message some of the guys at the store with these questions.  If they happen to overlook this thread you all might be screwed.  They have said that they were going to put more clothing up on the site, but they have alot going on.  Just send a PM to Air-ik, or Donald, or Jared or any of the managers.

And Nu-Nu, waterproofing is nice on the rainy days or days when the snow is falling, but super wet.  Lift rides can be a bitch; even here on the west coast.  I've had days where I rode all day in super heavy snowfall or rain and was sopping wet by the end of the day.  Hell, Brody and I rode for about 2 hours one day at Alpine Meadows in Tahoe last season and were wet all the way through our polypro.  That's pretty sad.

I was just making a lame joke that you shouldn't be sitting on the snow watching others, but riding down with full confidence...

I'm definitely with you on that one... waterproof is definitely a must because i've had my fair share of torrential rainstorms on the mountains where you'd just be boarding on slurpee slush to near water and it was just unbearable.. Those are the mid-winter East Coast warm days.. bleh.. sounds like u had it pretty rough urself too..

I dont know about "the house"  i randomly got a catolog ionb the mail from them and they got a lot of 0506 stuff mixed in with the 0607 stuff and they are thye same price.  kinda setchy if you ask me.

UMMMM..... have you seen those up-close??  They're kinda tacky.  Sorry Beth, but SnowAce, you might want to look at their other 686 gear and whatever else you can.  They have way better dog pile than that.  I mean, even if you just check out the actual company websites, figure out what you might want and then PM someone to see if Sierra carries it.  You might be able to order it that way.  Just a thought.

The plan is to have as much outerwear up on the site as we can by this weekend.   686, Bonfire, Foursquare, Special Blend, Planet Earth...and more.  Hopefully you guys will be able to see it very soon.

Waterproof is a must. Last year I was caught in sleet/rain a few times. And for those warm sunny days, who needs a jacket?
