This list will continue to grow
Q: It won't let me reply to someones post under "Ask our snowboard staff" or "Ask our ski staff"
A: Those sections are made for customers asking for staff advice. However, the "Ask other riders" forum is made for you guys to be answering each others post to get a second oppinion

Q:  dude how do you change your backround? Star

A: Click on "My Sierra" tab, and on the right-hand side, you will see an option that says "Upload a New Background".. Select an image on your computer to upload and it will now be displayed on your profile...

SmileEasy stuff. It is easier than html.

The hardest but most reliable way of posting pics is with a short line of code:

Please omit the space between the "[I" and the "MG]"

[I MG]http://www.snowboard-worldcup.com/img/pgs.jpg[/IMG]

When it is written without the space:

Now the url between the image tags is easy to access with a right click over any picture. Scroll down to properties and select. Then when the pop-up comes up, select and copy the url.

You can also copy and paste pictures too. Just right click the pic, and select copy. Paste it into your reply. The computer will usually code it for you.

If you want to know if it works before posting, click the preview post button.

How do I change my username?  It won't let me edit my name under "edit profile".  I can change everything else, except for my username.

Thanks in advance for the help.

everytime i make a post it takes me to a blank page where it says 5 short lines of stuff like 'cling' and 'null' and what not.
if i press the back button it shows up as a post but even though i've made multiple posts it says i've made none.
i have a feeling that the reason it says none is because it takes me to a weird almost blank page.
any help?

also, i dont think im getting points for logging in everyday
thanks

How can i do more reviews? I'm new to the forums and done 2 so far and i wanted to review some DaKine gloves but there are no stars for me to click on. Is there a limit to the amount of reviews you can do in a week?
1. Never underestimate your opponent..expect the unexpected. 2. Take it outside, never start anything inside the bar unless it's absolutely necessary, and 3...Be nice.

Does Sierra keep site demographics (age, location, sex, etc)? It'd be cool if you guys would post it every once in a while. My old site, bimmerforums.com, would post this info every now and then and it was always interesting to see how the community evolved.

Besides, this may be the first place where I'm a geezer!

Thanks.

D17nike- Looks like your reviews have been flagged as spam. The point system is designed to reward insightful reviews and positive interaction on the forums. If a staff or community member feels the reviews aren't helpful and are just a weak attempt at gaining points, they can be flagged and removed, thus removing the associated points with it. Looks like this is what happened in your case.

Hopefully that answers your question. PM me with any more that you might have.

I'm pretty sure you can do as much as you want (a mod or staff member might want to clarifiy this though), BUT if you start doing too many, particularly ones that look blatenly fake people will start flagging them as spam and they will be deleted and you will subsequently lose any points the reviews earned you.

The search is currently down, but should be back soon.  You could try searching on google by typing "sierrasnowboard.com"  and whatever topic you're looking for.

I found a way how to search the forum. In google type "site:sierrasnowboard.com/forum whatYouWantToSearchFor"
without the quotes and whatYouWantToSearchFor replaced with something else.
You can use this to search any site. Here is the link for more explanation. Link.

Can someone give a breakdown on points?

1 point per daily log in.
5 points per (unflagged) review
How many dollars per point? 10? 100? 1000?
And while im on the subject (ah! sneaky!), i dont think ive received my points for purchases. I mean i might have, i know people have mentioned similar issues in the past and its just not registering on their screen but its fine at sierraHQ. Can someone have a check?

You no longer receive purchase points Shocked, they took them off a while ago, i think you should get two points for reviews and reimplement the purchase points system, just an idea Smile

ah thats a shame. I was looking forward to fleeing up the ranks! Also please please pull my scope review! I only posted it because no one had really ridden it at the time, people were wanting lots of info around black friday and i happened to have it sitting in my house. Id really like to write a genuine and more accurate review of it in truth. Ive flagged it every time i see it, i even said it wasnt helpful, but no luck

No, we don't award any free bonus points and the best way to earn points quickly is to buy, post whoring takes longer.  Stop with the nonsense questions please.  You can get your points up in more useful ways.

That seriously wasn't a nonsense question, I was just asking to find out. The more points one has the more inclined they are to buy. I plan on buying from you guys for a pretty long time because you have the best deals on the web. Sorry if upset you for my "nonsense" questions

My apologies then.  You seem to just post random questions in random threads that they don't always relate to rather than seeking out appropriate threads that already probably hold the answers.  I'm not upset though, but Gsrrr seems to be Wink

I was unsure where to put this question and I didn't want to start a whole 'nother thread for this question.  And sorry, I know this forum is old.
Why can I not reply to some threads.  It seems like once a week I try to post on a thread and I'm told I don't have permission to post.  What gives?  I've actually had two cents on the topics, but was unable to do so.  Anyone know what's up with that?

I think my question was answered.  Seems some people only want an answer from an expert.
I guess my knowledge and opinions just aren't wanted sometimesCry
Anyone know why I can't add my setup to my profile?  I don't seem to have an option to edit it like I do for the other info.

if its the ask staff section, only experts and staff can post in it im afraid. Its a throwback from a different time. Staff are barely here (except doug) and im hardly an expert. Usually i just explain only staff can post in the section and theyll have better luck in the gear talk section (its usually about a piece of kit).

As for the second question, no idea on that im afraid. Ive never bothered to do it myself. :)
