Highback Rotation

on my salomon bindings, i rotated them and felt a difference. i havent done it with my cartel yet. the large highbacks are very responsive already.

it doesn't really 2 me...

i never adjusted mine, but they said something that you should adjust ur highbacks paralelle to your edge so you have more freedom aof movement laterally.

i like to be as tech as possible, but this is one thing i have never done. so i am curious.

i've only heard of burtons rotating

a lot of bindings do rotate , it will make specific riding harder and easier, but, its more of a comfort thing and different boots and different riders are gonnaa say different things about it. Rotation high backs in is gona make carving on your heels a little easier because it will take the pressure and direct it more to the middle of your board.  but doing certain tricks or trying to put pressure on the tip or tail of your board will be more difficult.  Of course to notice the difference it causes is gonna take a lot ot changing it back and forth.  but like i always say,  people dont mess around with their bindings.  and thier stances enough.   chenge them up and see how they feel. last year i changed my stance about 3 times.

seems like it would let you bone your legs easier. i'm with you on trying different things out. i carry my little driver with me so i can adjust things at the top of the hill. i finally tried the widest stance on my TRS and i was surprised how it changed my riding. i'm also always tweaking the angles and the forward lean. bindings give you so many things to adjust, you may as well try them out.

ehh if rotated bindings are harder to do presses on, thats not what im about

as i have stated in other threads, i bought some Cartels to see what all the hub-bub is about and i HAD to rotate the highbacks. i also did it on my Technines by choice.

i am now a firm believer in it. i don't even ride that duck (15°/-12°) but it made a huge difference for me. much less ankle/weird shin muscle pain. and it used to be when i had to skate on the flats, my board would want to turn to the angle of my front binding. now it's easier to keep straight.

I think NOT rotating your highbacks would make it weird to do presses.

I think you'd have more freedom and better comfort while trying to hold a press.

While doing a 5-0, you wouldn't have the top-edge of the highback digging into your front calf while trying to hold the press.

Rotation is good...do it. Bring it back old school and have tons of comfort w/ no support, throw some low-backs on...haha j/k.

Rotation usually just helps with comfort during the ride. If you have muscle soreness...i don't know. The only thing i could think of that can affect muscles on bindings is forward lean. Forward lean is supposed to help with your heelside turns by giving more positive pressure, and it helps keeps your knees bent.

My calfs get tired towards the end of the day too, but i think that's just from making huge toeside turns all day.
