Burton 09

The X8V is a Japanese only release this year again.  That was probably a picture from a showroom, not a salesfloor.

From time to time we do get in some Japanese release, but it's not super common.  Two seasons ago we had the Auras, this year we had the Avenue..... so you never know!

I'll clear this up for everyone.

X8V is not just an X8 with Vaporskin.  The X8V has vapor skin, a Dragon Fly core (i.e. the same wood core as the other X boards), stainless steel edges and lastly, a different sidecut.  So basically it's a different board.  For '08/'09 X8V will have ICS and it will come in 151.5, 154.5 and 157.5.

As far as where it's sold, it is technically Japan only.  However, the black '07/'08 version (which only came in 154.5) was sold in limited quantities at the Burton Soho store for a retail price of $650.  There was also a late release '08 151.5 that was blue/pink and had ICS.  As far as I know, the 151.5 never made it to the Soho store but maybe they have one or two "in the back".  There is still a 154.5 '08 X8V at 40% off in Soho as of a couple days ago. 

Not sure if there is spoon tech on the tip/tail for '09.

The ICS EST system really makes a difference when riding. I rode the 08 Burton Custom with Custom Bindings and that was a sick ride. Then a few weeks later i rode an early release Burton ICS Custom with Cartel EST bindings. If i didnt know that they were both Custom snowboards when i rode them than i would have thought that they were not even remotely the same board.

Thats not the only difference with the X8V. The X8V was orginally made in Japan were park wasn't so hot, so the earlier models were stiffer, however this years model has a feel of 2. Thats less that the US model the X8! Its a buttery soft board full of pop because of the Carbon 1-beam (also availiable on the un...inc). But thats not all, it has a dragon fly core along with vapor skin. This board also comes with the new 09' tech, the scoop.

	i'm pretty sure the OLS version of the japanese x8 does not have scoop... but infiniti would know as he owns one.... pretty sure scoop was released this year with the Fix and Seven.... but i defer to the man who owns one. pretty big difference between scoop and no-scoop.

	yes they all have scoop, but the con-dom has freebase, where its scoop all around the edge of the board.
