I would be bummed if they got rid of both the giveaways and the points.  I was hoping to reach free binding levelCry

seems like every once in awhile a-basin stays open to the 4th.  I think they have found it's not real economical.  They probably could have made it this year.

Cali is just getting destroyed for winter activities.  I am hoping you all come out of this vicious cycle and have a decent decade of winter.  I think everyone there is starting to forget what winter could be.

Sounds like you should probably move away from CO.  Then we will be set for an epic season...

We moved to CO from NC, so every season in CO is an epic one.

Hmm I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later considering the snow industry hasn't been what it used to be given that we're seriously lacking snow to keep resorts opened until the end of the season all thanks to global warming.  Who knows what's going on with TS but I would assume they're looking to sell or something.

I'm about 3500 pts from the free board. But, it would suck if someone was really close..and don't get their freebie they've been working years for...

lol. It would be board 3 for me. I gave away one of them, but I could still have 4 boards on the wall. Ride, Sierra Snowboard, and Palmer are the boards I have. Might as well have them on the wall.

it was the burton branded products, as well as other companies.  The whole thing is much more complicated than that, but the jist is contractors on branded products.

I was under the impression that since those boards were made by Burton that they weren't allowed to sell them below Burtons contracted price.  I also thought that was one of the reasons Burton filed a lawsuit against SS.  Or was it just because they were selling Burton branded boards too cheap?

They should sell them at $80 a piece and then have the sale posted on the "hot deal" sites.

At this point, these boards are already 5 years old, there should be no reseller restrictions and can be sold at clearance prices. And like Superorb said, these are SS boards, not Burton. The House should have rights to SS boards when they bought them out. So, they can do whatever they want with them.

They've already donated 5 boards to me. Every time I win one my wife says it's unfair and then uses it as an excuse to go out and buy herself one.

If they were smart they'd donate the boards and then claim their retail value to deduct from their taxes. They have so many of them that it would make a big dent in their overall tax obligation.

^ They WERE selling them too cheap, cheaper than their resale agreements said they could. That's why they got in trouble.

I like the idea of donating the boards to some type of charity. Maybe some that make snowboarding available to inner city kids or something. Or, they can sell them to a resort's rental department at a discounted price.

But, my suggestion is to just give them out to all the loyal members on the site. Give us coupon codes that are good for like 20 boards and can only be processed through existing account. Make us pay for shipping like the random drawings. But, they will be able to clear off the space in the warehouse that these old boards are taking up.

wakeboards would be sweet, but I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.  They don't even have a tab for wakeboards on this site (even though they are sold on this site).  Not to mention the sierra boards were inherited from the SS days when they bought several thousand and had them made.  I doubt those boards cost more than about $80 each including shipping.  So if they sell them for $150 they are likely making a decent profit.  I can't understand why they don't start some charity with the schools by giving away boards, then provide them a small discount if they come to this site to buy bindings/remaining gear.

I think they should start giving away wake boards to diversify there site. It would attract more people and also a more diverse group as well. Just a thought.

I wonder what the original order was for. Someone may have been a little ambitious when placing the orders for these boards to be built. I get the attraction of having the giveaway, and getting traffic to the site, but interest it can't be as effective as it used to be at this point.
