uhhhh, in this case, you are advertising. not spreading love. you can call it what you want, but if someone did that dog pile here, it would be completely annoying. i am irritated by that Capita rep and he is officially welcome (i think).
and let's not be naive. this contest benefits the store, much more than the handful of people that may win something, and that's why it's being done. having a free space for a forum with no outside advertising is nice for us all, but it is also a brilliant sales tactic. i don't blame them, i love being here, but i also have no illusions about it. you hang out in a tattoo shop long enough, you are bound to get a tattoo.

depends on the agenda, you can advertise for profits/business, or you can advertise because of sheer respect and appreciation for the shop and you woud like to share that with others.. i favor the ladder..

i see your point in helping sierra advertise to win a free snowboard...it's a mix of the two... there are good and bad points, but no one is holding a gun to your head and telling you to do it, it's totally voluntary which is why some choose to do it and while others choose not to participate..

well maybe not mad but moreso annoyed.  you go into a thread and all you see are the same messages.  no comments, no posts that are remotely relavent to the topic, filling the forums with garbage posts that normal members have to sort through to read about a subject.  that gets annoying.  and some people might get mad.
