Just wondering if I'm not the only one that thinks this has turned out to be one of the best seasons ever!!!!  I seriously want to get Rossi's new helmet!

WSB is awesome this year! Honda is really starting to get their chassis down.  For Yamaha, I don't know how Haga is still being competative with that broken collarbone.  That guy is an animal!

Moto GP has been great, Rossi started way down the field due to a mis-hap in qualifying and battled all the way back to 2nd, I cant remember if he was 6th or 9th at the beginning, but he was way down there after the start.  Great to see him battling at the front again.
I just wish they would ban traction control like they did with F1.  I liked it better when they were backing the bikes into every corner and sliding again on the way out.

I was just at the USA leg of the WSBK series a few days ago. Great racing even though Carlos Checa pulled away hard. WSBK is by far the better racing this and the past few years.

Rumor has it, WSBK and MotoGP are doing away with traction control next year.

I just got "The Doctor, The Tornado, and The Kentucky Kid" On DVD, all about the 2005 MotoGp race in Laguna.  Interesting that Ewen McGregor had a lot to do with the production and narrarates the whole movie.  I just hope its better than "Faster" was.

I'm pulling for Rossi big time, he just rides with so much passion its hard not to root for him.

I feel bad for Hayden though, I think Honda shafted him last year when they basically designed the entire bike around Pedrossa instead of him.

You should go to Spain, they're nuts about it out there(F1 as well) but they have every race on.
I have a great sense of humour. I'm also entitled.

Its on speed channel here, just tape delayed a bit, so I try to avoid watching ESPN on race days.  I hate when I miss them though because the replays are always at two in the morning or something stupid.  I gotta get a Tivo.  It always works out that I'm home in time to catch Moto GP, or WSB, never both at the same time.

Anyone see the proposed rule changes for AMA?  NASCAR bought the rights to it.  Suzuki is threatening to pull out all together.  They have won 32 straight races at this point.  They want to make the 600's the premier class now instead of the 1000cc machines.

I'm just wondering how long its going to be before we come full circle on the displacement thing and everyone is back to running 750's again.

excellent movie, shaka! not enough about Rossi, unfortunately. i liked Faster mostly because of the awesome shots, sound clips, and fly-bys they had of the 2-strokes. i just wish i had a good surround sound system to full appreciate how wonderful that sound is.

i got to say, the AMAs have been very exciting as of late. Spies has been on an absolute tear ever since Mladin had that bad laid down. and just this past weekend, Mladin and Spies battled it out, staying within only a tire's length or so of each other. looks to be a very exciting points race in the end. Hacking has been riding excellently, but it seems that both Spies and Mladin are on a totally different planet with their riding and how well those GSXR1000s are tuned.

and at Miller Motorsports Park in UT, the Formula Extreme class was a fun race to watch with Zemke and Hayes going back and forth. that track looked so fun too!
peace.

Thats the only issue I have with Spies and Mladdin in AMA, its basically a two man race every day.

Though those two can ride.  Isn't Spies an alternate for the Laguna GP this year?

i'm not sure, i haven't heard much about that. i'd love to go to the GP at Laguna Seca, but i doubt i can.

i agree with the Spies/Mladin. it's pretty unfair, according to the points race, but it also is pretty prevalent that Suzuki is the obvious premier liter bike right now. i mean, as far as the points goes, it's like a 10:1 comparison with all other manufacturers. it's crazy how well those new GSXRs have been running. i remember when it used to be pretty spread out, and podium would usually be a mixture of Suzuki, Yamaha, and Honda with an occasional 1-2 or 1-3 finish of same manufacturers.

now, it just seems to be Suzuki and only Suzuki.

i'm kind of wondering how well some riders like Hacking, Bostrom, or Duhamel (if he'd ever step off of a Honda) would do if they were riding on a Yoshimura Suzuki bike.
peace.

Its because Suzuki is the only factory team in the AMA, look at WSB and you will notice a far bigger spread on points and much more competition.  The AMA ran pretty much everyone else out of the 1000cc class, which is why the supersports are so much more competative, manufactures are still supporting those teams.

Don't get me wrong, Mladdin and Spies are also the only two people in that class that would have a legitimate shot at a Moto GP ride, their skill level is that high.  However the competition is not as good from both a machine and a rider standpoint.

oh, i didn't know that the other manufacturers are no longer supporting teams in the AMA. i guess i haven't kept up much on teams and sponsorships/support.
peace.

Personally I am sick of watching spies and mladin win every damn race.  They need to do something to shake up AMA.

Spies has 3 races lined up with MotoGp as far as I know. He's in talks with Suzuki MotoGP and if that falls through, I have a feeling Ducati will snatch him up FAST. Josh Hayes is also headed to WSBK next year. Mladin said he's out of AMA after this season with the new ownership's decisions.

When I was at the WSBK race at Miller, Suzuki was showing off their 2009 AMA racebike for the DMG Superbike. They dispelled the rumor that they would be leaving AMA after this season.

siiiick.

that was the first time i had seen the Miller Motorsports Park. like i said, that track looked SOOOO fun to ride, and everyone was saying that it was such a comfortable track to ride that you don't even notice that it's so long.
peace.

Love the new areodynamic cowling on the 09 racebike.  It should kill the competition in gas mileage!

AMA is going to be interesting next year.  I was browsing through the rule changes and it seems like everything is very production based.  Which is big for the "Race on sunday, ride on monday" crowd that is buying nothing but GSXR's right now.

Still, MotoGP is where its at!  Can't wait for Rossi to win the next race.

Preparing for your Moto GP tryout then?  I have been trying to get out of my offce for four hours now.  First sunshine in weeks with fully dry roads, and its just not happening.  This really sucks.  The twisties are literally three minutes from my house.  I even found one route that is on back roads through the middle of downtown that nobody ever drives on for when I need a quick fix.

Nice!!!  If I don't go check out the new park at Hood this weekend with Xiyan, I'm going to try and get a good ride in too.  I can't seem to get my right knee down in corners and its annoying the crap out of me, but I can drag the left just fine.

Gratuitous pic of my lame attempt to look like Rossi

I used to watch the GP a lot when I used to work for the local Yamaha shop.  Try to stay updated on it though.

Nice double win for Haga in World Superbike!  Bayliss kinda screwed Corser though when he ran him wide early in the race.  he last couple of laps were awesome!  And Haga is racing with a broken collarbone!

Anyone else absolutely LOVE the Laguna GP!  What the heck was up with Michellen putting cut slicks on the Honda's?  Anyone else notice they looked like they were running rain tires?  No wondr why Hayden was mama doging.  I think he is off to Ducati next year.

As for the best battle on track in recent years, Rossi and Stoner put on a show, too bad Stoner cooked it in turn 11.  Tjem he mama doged about Rossi being too aggressive afterwards.
