the stance might matter, but the chin to shoulder is the most important.
try to feel that you want to chase your tail (bad analogy) and go at it.
where the head goes, the body follows.

and you're stance is very foward. it might help if you ducked out more. try to at least get the back foot to a lower angle than your front foot.

I was wondering the same thing about stance width.  Do you think it would be easier to learn with a narrow or wide stance?  I have mine pretty wide and I was wondering if it would make it easier if I made it more narrow.

ya, at first when i hadn't done any i was scared, but you just need to try some, they are easier than you think.
