I haven't seen many starfish in my day, but I was a little disturbed by the sheer size of it.  I admit, I was afraid to even touch it.  I am not very familiar with them or what they do, and I didn't want to find out with one that big LOL

Speaking of giant star fish, did you (or anybody really) see the show "Planet Earth" on Discovery?  I know it's a little old but they actually did a rerun of it yesterday.  Anywho, one of the things they featured was a crazy reef area, apparently by California, and they showed these giant star fish in time-lapse cruising around on the ocean floor eating smaller star fish and sand dollars.  Pretty sweet.  Looks like they're just floating around the bottom.

Found this video online.  It's the exact same footage but this one says BBC on it and it's got different commentary.  Anywho, check it out.  The star fish action is around 2:50.

I touched one of the little feelers, but that was it.  It was moving them all around while I was photographing it.  I went back with a shovel to carry it down the pier to the water but someone had already pushed it over the edge back into the water about 10 feet below by the time I got back there.

Cascade Loop! Every year we have a have a drive that starts of in Burlington and completes the whole Cascade Loop scenic highway, stopping off in Winthrop.

This year we had close to 130 cars or so. Completly covered the entire town of Winthrop in Subarus...

And a pic of my car for good measure:

Most of the cars are of the WRX/STi variety - but there are plenty of older Imprezas, Foresters, Legacies, and non-Subaru cars in the Skyline, Supra, and other type.

Couple showing a small section of the lineup:

Yeah, it's been one of my favorite car events every year.

And just because I know how much Shaka and others love Subarus, here's another two shots of my car from last year's Cascade Loop:

Did you know that Disney uses air cannons to launch their fireworks?

I can't remember how much they save as far as money goes but it's a ton.  Besides the fact that all of that black powder that would have been used towards launching the shells can be used IN the shells instead :P

So, my parents and brother bought Brody and I a Nikon D70 for Christmas.  I'm still getting use to all of the setting and whatnot on it, but I took these two photos a few days after Christmas out in Brody's dad's walnut orchard in Northern California.  They don't look much like the actual sunset did, but I was actually really stoked on the way they turned out anyway Star:
