    Posted: Oct/11/2008 at 10:26am
Just got back from Timberline on Mt. Hood.  They put the lifts on standby after only a few hours due to really high winds, so I only got to put in about 10-15 runs.  But it was great to be back on the snow.  Overall it was really sunny, but pretty icy.  You could find some softer snow to the sides though and it was basically wide open for some high speed runs, just had to be careful with being able to stop in time on the ice to make the turn t the lift.

Quick pics of the top of Palmer, if you look in the lower left hand side, you can still see the jumps from the summer park.  I ventured down there and decided that would be certain eath.  First of all, the run-out no longer had snow down to the lift, so it would have meant a hike out of there.  Secondly, it was pure ice, like the kind where its almost blue.  I had a hard time even stopping over there, and an even worse time walking back up to the run.  If it gets warmer though it would be worth it.

Anyway, here are some  pics

November 25 is the magic day for me. Cry

Look at how many people you made cry, you should be ashamed of yourself.

From the looks of it, Heavenly might be opening a little early this season. Smile

It's been snowing on the Dipper cam for the past couple days and it looks like they have some pretty decent coverage.

This season looks like it's gonna be a good one! Big%20smile

And that second picture looks amazing btw. Pretty much what I've been looking for at a resort....
I'm here for the point, not the points.

I was riding a Head Team ICT actually.  The Skate Banana BTX actually doesn't have any more edge grip than any of my other free-ride boards.  Its just that its able to get that edge grip without being stiff as a 2x4.  I rode the head because its one of my rock boards though and I wasn't sure what coverage would be like.  Plus Palmer is generally just a big field with a moderate pitch, so you end up just bombing at high speeds on days like that one was.  Its a lot of fun on pow days though.

They all usually open the first or second weekend of November.  I believe last year it was the first weekend because we got a bunch of snow.
