K Rove

After looking around at both the Rossignol Mini and the Gnu G-Nome and K-Rove, I decided to go with the Gnu from a shop keep' advice. I went with a brand that I know and one who exclusively makes snowboards, not skis and boards. The Nome-Ak is 121 and the K-Rove is 125cm. Being 6'0" and 190lbs I opted for the longest effective edge i could get, and the K-Rove beat the Rosi's 121cm and 123cm maxes.

First thing to keep in mind regarding mini boards are that they aren't for much besides hardpack or slush. Since I live around the twin cities, MN I don't get a whole lot of pow ever, so its all hardpack or slush, perfect for a mini board.

My first impressions of the board was that it certainly was tiny, And it has a slight offset. There literally is NO nose or tail, so big presses are out of the question, although little lean presses are still possible. Flex is medium in the middle, and VERY soft in the tips (because of the lack of both).
All in all, I've ridden it twice, and I love it. It is not a serious snowboard, but a lot of fun to play with. Swing weight is tiny because it's half a board. All in all I would recommend it for messing around the little features, but not for big jumps or anything where a little extra length would be nice. I'll keep taking mine out this season to just mess around on and get some big spins down.
