Captain's Log Day 1 - May 2
Buller opened their Holden lift for the weekend. This gave access to Bourke street which I normally avoid like the plague during winter but hey, riding Bourke street is better than nothing. Having not ridden for 8 months it took me a run or two to get my groove thang back on. I rode the Sierra Crew that I won which I will talk about later. Conditions were ok in the morning but got very chopped up by about lunch. Dirt and rocks were showing in places and in parts the groomer hadnt hit there were big ass divots and holes everywhere. Overall, a fun day. It was nearlly all snowboarders and it seemed that anyone in the country that could acctualy ride was there which was rad. I hiked the Summit for 2 runs as well as a good chunk of standard and a bit of Little Buller Spur. I was ment to ride today with Higiff but couldnt be there which sucks. There were some funny things that I saw/listened to yesterday. Ive put some of them below.
![]() Carpark ![]() Me explaining something to Dad while I got dressed. ![]() Walking to the bus line. ![]() Waiting in the line. It was huge. Ended up getting picked up by the Chalet manager in his van. Screenshot from a vid. Turned out pretty good. |

helllllll yeah, theres so much. its strange how there are just random spots of dirth though, cause the rest of the snow is still feet deep. i want to go back there soon, that long pipe was getting me stoked. i was tired though so i didnt spend much time on it.
i think jibbing is going to be a lot more fun now that ive found a rail-type thing that i really like. big round ones. so simple. my horrorscope looks 10x as used after today. at least the base, anyway. such a sick board. that + 158 + stiffer + higher end = perfection. so...... indoor fk. im pooping my pants about it.. i cant wait. |

Day 2 and 3.
Day 2 was good, I rode at Coronet Peak. It was pretty hard in the morning but it was nice once the sun hit the mountain. I dont have any riding pics, just scenic pics. I spent the day exploring the mountain. ![]() Sheep that never shut up. ![]() ![]() Day 3 - A good day at The Remarkables. I spent the day exploring the bowls and basins. Snow cover isnt the best, there are still a hell of alot of rocks sticking up. ![]()

Cool pictures! Is the whole trip already paid for? I mean, is the 10K your budget or you handed the money to someone else who is taking care of all your needs?

Went to St. Marys glacier today. Started out raining, but that didn't last longer than 10 mins or so. The trailhead starts at 10,400 feet.....
![]() Interesting things along the way: ![]() At the base of the glacier, approximately 11,000 feet ![]() ![]() And the looooooong hike up. I need a new set of lungs. This is 1/3 way up, looking down ![]() see the guy in the top right? Thats about 1/3 way up. ![]() finally to the top ![]() coming down ![]() ![]() ![]() at the bottom ![]() ![]() |
