Can't believe that own goal by England!  I felt so bad for her.  USA is going to win easily.  England vs. USA would have been a much better game.

I've liked her since she was playing at Diamond Bar in SoCal. Didn't expect her to play at this level though. But I think you're a big fan...for her other attributes...lolWink

Yes I am biased but US was much better side...Solo was not tested once and they had no chances other than the mistep by Johnston...the better side one

That game vs. Germany could have gone either way.  USA really should have been red carded for that foul in the box.  Then the foul committed against them was clearly outside the box.  Had Germany converted on that penalty it would have been a different game.  The better team won though I think.  Hoping for an England vs USA final.

The US D only allowed 3 shots on goal, but had 9 shots on goal for themselves. If they can keep limiting the shots on goal, they'll have a chance to win every game. They have to play better on offense though. Hope Solo will take care of the rest.

US looked good in this one for the most part but they seem to wing a bit in offensive third...gonna have to take it up a notch to beat Germany but 1 goal in 5 games is impressive...D is really good and Johnson is lights out.

Tight game, USA played well though.

I think Japan are favourites and deservedly so. Technically very good, maybe the (almost) home town advantage will help USA? They seem to be getting pretty good crowds.

US plays China today. The Chinese get paid for wins...reportedly, each player would get more than half a million $ if they beat the Americans today. Now that's some real motivation...

Yeah they have looked really bad.  Usually they are the favorites in any tournament but I think right now the favorites are Germany and Norway.  I expect them to make it to the semi's and maybe win the third place game.

Excitement? Falcon's Fire by meizu m1Rees Jones has 1 or 2 thrillers, especially its cape hole, the par 4 13th. Informed me dares of which you bite off more than you can chew, although it is tempting to rip a big meizu mx3 tee shot toward the green, the actual play for you to safely land your ball into the slender fairway utilizing a little more forgiving angle and a taylormade r15 fairway wood.

If they find evidence of bribes and other funny business that resulted in Qatar getting the World Cup, then it SHOULD be taken away. It wouldn't make sense to still award them for their wrongdoing.

Yup, they need to just pick a new place. Unless they can build all indoor stadiums and still play at the regular time of the year.

Alex Morgan played in the second half of the Australian game. But she's recovering from an injury that happened last april, bone bruise left knee if i remember correctly. So she's not 100%

The U.S. by no means had their best players in against either team.  No Timmy Howard, Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore etc...  Sure it doesn't count but it does show that the U.S. has a respectable team right now and that's not something that has historically happened very often for the USMNT.

The women did play bad.  Australia completely outplayed them in the first half.  There is no way they beat Germany if they play that poorly.  They may not even beat Sweden if they play like they did against Australia.  I think they will bounce back and play much better today.

It is not easy to beat those two national teams under any circumstance. They do not count in the literal sense but they do show the progress...

the Qatar stadiums are going to AC'ed so that "should" help with the heat. Heck they built indoor skiing in the Dubai Mall.

I take that back. I read an article that they a back peddling from the promise of an AC system and are going to use a wind tunnel instead.

Technically, it should not be too late. Many countries have enough stadiums to host right now. But, to take away the 1st ever World Cup from the Arab world..and the millions of $ they've paid to get the rights to host...it's just not going to happen...Dead

The IOC is running into a problem with the 2022 Winter Olympics. There are only 2 cities left in the bidding, and both of them are not viable.

Beijing is leading, but the suggested venues have no snow. I dunno, I'm thinking snow is kind of important for the Winter Olympics.

The other city in the running is Almaty in Kazakhastan. They have snow, but no infrastructure or lodging available. They'll need $1 Billion to build everything. The country is not exactly rich.

Why don't they just go to places that have existing ski resorts, instead of having to build new ones? I'm pretty sure either Denver, Salt Lake City, or Tahoe is more prepared today than either Beijing for Almaty will be in a few years. You have bunch of ski slopes, you got ice rinks, you got lodging, you got transportation. The only thing you don't have, is a willingness to pay bribe money. That's why countries that have existing venues and infrastructure are not in the running.

Finally, somebody's doing something about the corruption at FIFA. When Qatar, a country that has NEVER qualified for the World Cup, gets chosen to host, that's the last straw that broke the camel. The heat in Qatar would also force existing league seasons to be altered because they would have to play the World Cup in Nov and Dec when it's actually bearable to play. The country only has 3 stadiums, and all 3 need to be expanded to host. They have to build 9 stadiums, all of which won't be needed after the World Cup. They don't have the hotels and other infrastructure. They also have problems with human rights and worker (slave) conditions. On paper, Qatar has no chance of ever being considered as a possible host. But, they beat out the US, South Korea, Japan, and Australia? It was just too obvious...

IOC should be next.
