The team from Endwell, NY won the Little League World Series, defeating South Korea in an entertaining, tight game by the score of 2-1.  First championship win for the U.S. since 2011.

Tebow has less of a shot in the MLB than Michael Jordan.  Guy needs to give it up already or go play in the CFL.

Team from New York won the Little League World Series, beating South Korea 2-1 yesterday. I still think it's unfair that it's US vs. International in the championship game. The international teams have to beat out their country, then their region, then the rest of the world before they get a chance to play. The US team, only has to be best in their country and they already get a chance to win it. I don't even mind that the US already has half of the teams like they do now, but US is guaranteed to be in the championship game? They should mix up the teams so the US teams are also playing against other international teams in the prelim rounds. I think that the US won't be winning any championships in that format...

I saw a brief clip of Tebow taking batting practice on ESPN this morning, he has a good swing - stays centered, turns his hips through the ball, keeps balanced, quick stroke.  Plus, he bats lefty, that will probably help get some attention.

Hahaha, Tebow keeps chasing the dream, but he changed the dream from NFL to MLB. I picture him trying out for the NBA next, I bet he has a sweet outside shot.

Tebow was apparently an all-state OF in HS and drew some interest from some teams back in the day. He hit .494 in his junior year and didn't play in his senior year. Even in 2013, the Angels were looking at possibly drafting him and would have if Tebow sent back the paperwork... But, I guess he was too busy trying to make the Patriots team and never sent it back. I think he may be good enough to make the minors.

Ummm, file this under "Seriously?"... Tim Tebow has been training to prepare for a baseball workout that all 30 Major League teams received an invitation to attend.  Wow... he doesn't know when to stop.

The word on local sports talk radio is eventually there will be 4 super-conferences with 16 teams in each conference. Would they rename the conferences to remove the number, although the Big 10 already has more than 10 teams, 14 to be exact. And the Big 12 has 10 teams.

That last post was supposed to go in the randomness thread. Fail.

A lot of talk around here about whether byu will get to join a power conference (big 12) it would have to be football only because byu refuses to play on Sundays. I'm not sure it's a good fit.

^ She's married and pregnant, lightning, you have no shot at her.

The preseason college football coaches poll was released, I find it interesting that Michigan is in the Top 10 considering this is Harbaugh's 2nd season and he is still working with players that were recruited by Hoke.  I don't think Michigan will return to the top 10 for another season or two.  And Ohio State at #5?  I don't think so.

1. Alabama (55 first place votes)
2. Clemson (7)
3. Oklahoma
4. Florida State (1)
5. Ohio State
6. LSU
7. Stanford
8. Michigan
9. Notre Dame
10. Tennessee (1)
11. Michigan State
12. Ole Miss
13. Houston
14. TCU
15. Iowa
16. Georgia
17. USC
18. Washington
19. Oklahoma State
20. North Carolina
21. Baylor
22. Oregon
23. Louisville
24. UCLA
25. Florida

Wife has a short torso making her pregnancy show more than most women who are due and she has three months to go.  Doctor says that it's nothing to be concerned about but wanted to let her know she will look as large as many women carrying twins get by the time she is due.  Poor wife.

Thanks robsta, that's very generous of you.  Let me know how much S&H is and I'll PayPal it to you.

I have a few Pro V1's in my bag, was given a few sleeves last season.  I know what you mean about the spin, I lost the first one I played by hitting a huge duck-hook off the tee.  They are great around the greens, especially if you need to back up the ball a bit.

Do you play with Pro V1 regularly? For me they add way too much spin and increase my slice or hook so I don't like them.  Short game is a different story though as they add a TON of backspin which helps a lot.

You can just have a box for free as long as you pay shipping.  I will sell the others for 30-40 a box and still have plenty of money left over.

How much do you want for a dozen?  Shipping will be a pain, maybe I'll pick them up from you in February when my family is in UT.

Playing about every other week hasn't been enough for me to improve.  Like you said it's hard to find the time and with our first coming in October I question if I will be able to play at all afterwards.  I have also found that playing softball completely throws off my swing so that could be why I played so poorly last week.

Jimmy "Dyn-O-Mite" Walker wins the PGA Championship, 1 stroke ahead of Jason Day who eagled the 18th to put pressure on Walker.  Walker just needed par on 18 to win the tournament and pulled it off.

Storms suspend the PGA Championship with more storms expected today.

Jason Day is the leader at -9 with 4 gophers 2 strokes behind and another 5 gophers 3 strokes behind including The Open champ Henrik Stenson.

Final round of The Open.  Stenson at -12, Mickelson at -11.  Next closest is Haas at -6, so essentially it is a battle between Lefty and Stenson, no one else has a shot realistically.

Finally getting a chance to try out my new golf irons today.  I bought them used but they are in great shape.  Let's hope these game improvement irons can do just that.

Brady's suspension was upheld.  Don't think it will really affect the Patriots overall that much.  Plus Brady will come back next season with a chip on his shoulder.  I'm making a prediction that the Patriots will win the superbowl.

Tim Duncan finally retired.  Guy is a legend.  Sadly he is one of the last of a generation of players who stay loyal to one team throughout their career.  The NBA is so weak today with the mentality of if you can't beat them join them.

The PGA (well, LPGA) strikes again.  Anna Nordqvist was told she would be receiving a penalty for grounding her club in a sand trap while playing the 3rd hole of the playoff with Brittany Lang.

And I was right!!!

A mostly Ronaldo-less Portugal, a team that won just one of its seven games in France during regulation, won the European Championship with a 1-0 extra-time win over the hosts on Sunday, thanks to a late, long strike from Eder.

I haven't watched any Wimbly yet this year, I'm sure I'll catch some over the weekend.

Also going to watch my buddy's 12U travel baseball team compete in Cooperstown, the web site will have live streaming.  The team is the Canton Cardinals:

My team is like the farm club for this team, I have had several players move up to play on the Cardinals.

Anybody watching Wimbledon? ESPN3 is showing every single match. Although most of them have no commentary. It's almost like being an audience.

I believe he tweeted something against the organization even before the game. All of the news reports are saying it's because he lost and that he missed the PK. It's actually a lot more than that.

I'm not a soccer fan, but actually watched almost the entire 2nd half of the game. Argentina played better, had more scoring chances, but Chile's goalie was just on fire. I wouldn't say it was an "embarrassing" loss as some news reports are making it out to be. It's not like they got outplayed and the score was lopsided.

I'm a soccer fan and I didn't watch it.  Damn WorkAngry
You are right though.  Messi is quitting for a lot of reasons other than he lost.  Although, I don't think he is actually going to quit.  He will come back and bring Argentina a trophy.
