^ I don't understand the baseball writers' mindset, 15 writers did not select Johnson.  On sports talk radio this morning they were discussing how these days no one should go into the Hall with 100% of the votes since Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Willie Mayes, Ted Williams, etc. did not receive 100% of the votes.

Pete Rose needs to be in the HOF.  His gambling occurred while he was a manager not a player, so he needs to go into the HOF as a player.  Only 2 players in MLB history have more than 4,000 hits: Rose and Ty Cobb.

^^ You said it best with one word: baseball.

That sport is nothing now but an archaic pile of old white men yelling "get off my lawn!" ... even if they are not old or white, they still act that way.

The sport itself is boring as hell, and it's only getting worse. They can't even celebrate the best of the best without some sort of unwritten "rules."

Those 15 writers that didn't select Johnson need their heads cut open and examined: "Dr, check it out! This guy's head is just empty!"  "Indeed it is.. indeed..."

All the unwritten rules in baseball is just dumb. The sport has become antiquated and fans have left to watch other things. Pete Rose needs to be in the HOF as a player. His gambling afterwards had nothing to do with how he played on the field. Players that used PEDs should not be excluded..simply because it was NOT against the rules when they used! Oh wait, I forgot..unwritten rules...

^ Pretty impressive considering they beat the Spurs and Mavs over the last couple of games.  The Pistons looked like a lottery pick team and then they go on a 7 game win streak?  Crazy.

Bulls get crushed by Utah last night, 97-77.  Sheesh, what happened?  I mean besides the Bulls shooting 33%?

What the heck is up with the Denver offense? Can't move the ball down the field, struggling with short passes and runs. Man Peyton, c'mon! Also, what did everyone think of that Dez Bryant play??? Catch or no catch??

Yeah, no kidding. That was a bad game. How about that game last night though! Gasol was a beast with a career high 46 points and 18 rebounds to go along with it!  Not getting Carmelo was a blessing in disguise for us. Pau has been a huge pickup and at a value compared to what we would of got 'Melo for. Plus we built one of the best benches out of it.  I bet Carmelo is regretting no signing with the Bulls.  Knicks are the leagues worst at 5-35. Man oh man does Phil got some serious rebuilding to do.

That was a catch. I'd like to see the ref try to catch with 2 hands then move it to 1 hand and stretch for the end zone. Don't tell me that's not an athletic football move..because the ref can't even make that move if he tried.

Congrats to the Buckeyes. I didn't expect them to win. I thought the Ducks would blow them out with their speed. But I guess OSU's 3rd QB is the real deal. If all 3 of them return to school next year, who's going to start? All 3 should be starting somewhere...or decide to move on to the next level? But I guess it's the O-line that deserves the most credit. Wide open lanes for Elliot to run and good protection for the QB to make his throws.

The college football playoffs was a good idea, otherwise, OSU wouldn't even be in the championship game. I would like to see it expand to 8 teams..or 10, with top 2 getting a bye or something.

Agree with the 8 team expansion.  Would have been an amazing 3 weeks with record viewing audiences for each game.

Madden NFL 15 eerily and correctly predicted the outcome and score of the Super Bowl as well as Brady winning the MVP, Brady's TD passes and coming close to Brady's passing yardage.  Cool and eerie at the same time.

Pete Carroll outsmarted himself.  That was the first asian in his armor in Seattle.  His team is not going to forget that poor decision.

Apparently it's not good to have an asian in your armor.

lol... I guess you can't use the word  c h i n k  here (and I mean that the way barnyard intended, a c h i n k in the armor, not as a derogatory slur).

OMG.   I didn't see that.  I most definitely meant it for "in the armor" (exposing a vulnerability - a colloquialism used since the 1400's).

Despite that, I'm glad that the forum fixes those things for most instances.

It's sad that Tiger is playing so poorly.  I still only want to watch golf when he's competitive.

It was painful to watch tiger play like that. He definitely lost his mojo. Hope he can find his swing soon and be competitive with it. I know his back is giving him problems, but I know for a fact that is not as bad as my friend and mine. My buddy had surgery on his back with a full body support brace after. My back is not as bad but I have two slipped disks myself. One in the mid back (T5), and my L5 (golfers slip). Trust me it's uncomfortable most of my day, but it hurts no matter what if I irritated my sciatic, but I can still flush the ball and have a well controlled shot game in norcals crappie maintained public courses. I'm not trying to compare myself to tiger, but the way he acts on the course sometimes is a little over the top. Man up Tiger. I believe in you. He just got to get used to being older and accept the pain.

I think Tiger will get good again (maybe not for a while though).  He needs to get back to his original swing and deal with the pain instead of trying to change his swing to account for his injuries.

LLWS U.S. champs Jackie Robinson West from Chicago have been stripped of the title:

Jackie Robinson West, an all-black team that became a feel-good story of the summer and was celebrated from the White House to the World Series, had been in a vortex of allegations since its season ended. Chief among them: the team used ringers from outside its area, then it illegally manipulated district boundaries to its own advantage.

An unfortunate turn of events for the team but add it to the list of U.S. LLWS teams breaking the rules (anyone remember Danny Almonte?).

^ The adults ruined it for the kids. The kids didn't know any better and just wanted to play. Now, their entire run has been tarnished. Now, they're called cheaters. And they were not the one that broke the rules...

^ Tiger was insatiable until his wife caught him cheating.  Some of the broads he was boinking weren't even attractive, I think one was a Waffle House waitress who was quite skanky.  That's the part I don't get, Elin was hot, really hot.  Why go for some dirty girl (haha, autocorrect changed this to "dirty girl") when you have Elin at home?  Maybe Tiger was looking for some action that Elin wouldn't give him, like playing the back 9?
