With so many NFL head coach vacancies right now, I'm sure Saban's phone is ringing off the hook. He won't take any of the offers though, but I'm sure he'll go to Alabama's AD and let him know about all those offers and get a raise. LOL

I don't think Saban will ever leave college. He can always be the top paid coach and can always get the top recruits so they'll always be in championship contention, he had no reason to leave except to try and win a super bowl but he'll need years of expiring in the NFL before that'll happen.

Interesting US Open, the whole "did he or did he not cause the ball to move" issue with Dustin Johnson.  Glad to see Johnson prevail and win after several close finishes in the past.  I bet Paulina Gretzky was happy.

Most pro players are saying that Dustin shouldn't have gotten the penalty.

DJ did get a lot of support from his colleagues.  Spieth, McIlroy, Tiger (wait, is he still a professional golfer?), Luke Donald, Webb Simpson, Fowler, and several more all tweeted strong messages in support of DJ.  Even the old Golden Bear had strong words for the USGA.

I liked Golden Bear's comment. If Dustin said he didn't cause the movement then that should have been it. This is a game of honor.

Strange story out of Sweden, a soccer player gets a yellow card for farting during the game.  His quote was even funnier than the act:

Ljungkvist, baffled, needed closure. "I asked the referee, 'What, am I not allowed to break wind a little?' " Ljungkvist continued, sensing that the world and the history books would need more information. " 'No,' he replied. … I don't get it but maybe he thought I farted in my hand and threw the fart at him. But I did not."

Lol. He must have said something before the fart and the ref thought the fart was intentionally targeted at him in conjunction with those comments.

Actually, Messi along with 6 other players from Argentina said they won't play for the national team. It's actually not about losing, it's about the organization that runs the team that has all the players fed up. There is massive corruption on the top and they don't care about the players. I believe he tweeted something against the organization even before the game. All of the news reports are saying it's because he lost and that he missed the PK. It's actually a lot more than that.

I'm not a soccer fan, but actually watched almost the entire 2nd half of the game. Argentina played better, had more scoring chances, but Chile's goalie was just on fire. I wouldn't say it was an "embarrassing" loss as some news reports are making it out to be. It's not like they got outplayed and the score was lopsided.

You are right though.  Messi is quitting for a lot of reasons other than he lost.  Although, I don't think he is actually going to quit.  He will come back and bring Argentina a trophy.

Anybody watching Wimbledon? ESPN3 is showing every single match. Although most of them have no commentary. It's almost like being an audience.

I haven't watched any Wimbly yet this year, I'm sure I'll catch some over the weekend.

Also going to watch my buddy's 12U travel baseball team compete in Cooperstown, the web site will have live streaming.  The team is the Canton Cardinals:

My team is like the farm club for this team, I have had several players move up to play on the Cardinals.

And I was right!!!

A mostly Ronaldo-less Portugal, a team that won just one of its seven games in France during regulation, won the European Championship with a 1-0 extra-time win over the hosts on Sunday, thanks to a late, long strike from Eder.

The PGA (well, LPGA) strikes again.  Anna Nordqvist was told she would be receiving a penalty for grounding her club in a sand trap while playing the 3rd hole of the playoff with Brittany Lang.

Can't believe France lost.  Completely choked in front of their own fans!  I'm just glad it wasn't Penaldo who scored the game winning goal.

Tim Duncan finally retired.  Guy is a legend.  Sadly he is one of the last of a generation of players who stay loyal to one team throughout their career.  The NBA is so weak today with the mentality of if you can't beat them join them.

Finally getting a chance to try out my new golf irons today.  I bought them used but they are in great shape.  Let's hope these game improvement irons can do just that.

Brady's suspension was upheld.  Don't think it will really affect the Patriots overall that much.  Plus Brady will come back next season with a chip on his shoulder.  I'm making a prediction that the Patriots will win the superbowl.

Final round of The Open.  Stenson at -12, Mickelson at -11.  Next closest is Haas at -6, so essentially it is a battle between Lefty and Stenson, no one else has a shot realistically.

^ You're doing it wrong, it should be "the more I play the better I get".  Golf is one of those things that takes time and repetition.  When I was playing regularly (2 weekday leagues and 18 on a Saturday or Sunday morning) I really improved.  And then kids came along and you no longer have time, so your game slides.  I still have flashes of brilliance every now and then when I play.

Storms suspend the PGA Championship with more storms expected today.

Jason Day is the leader at -9 with 4 gophers 2 strokes behind and another 5 gophers 3 strokes behind including The Open champ Henrik Stenson.

Jimmy "Dyn-O-Mite" Walker wins the PGA Championship, 1 stroke ahead of Jason Day who eagled the 18th to put pressure on Walker.  Walker just needed par on 18 to win the tournament and pulled it off.

Playing about every other week hasn't been enough for me to improve.  Like you said it's hard to find the time and with our first coming in October I question if I will be able to play at all afterwards.  I have also found that playing softball completely throws off my swing so that could be why I played so poorly last week.

Just got 60 Titleist Pro V1 golf balls from wholesalers at work.  The problem with me owning Pro V1's is that I might as well just be throwing five bucks into the bushes every time I hit.  I think I will sell them online and buy cheaper balls.

How much do you want for a dozen?  Shipping will be a pain, maybe I'll pick them up from you in February when my family is in UT.

You can just have a box for free as long as you pay shipping.  I will sell the others for 30-40 a box and still have plenty of money left over.

Do you play with Pro V1 regularly? For me they add way too much spin and increase my slice or hook so I don't like them.  Short game is a different story though as they add a TON of backspin which helps a lot.

Thanks robsta, that's very generous of you.  Let me know how much S&H is and I'll PayPal it to you.

I have a few Pro V1's in my bag, was given a few sleeves last season.  I know what you mean about the spin, I lost the first one I played by hitting a huge duck-hook off the tee.  They are great around the greens, especially if you need to back up the ball a bit.
