I am just curious how everyone counts the days they are on the mountain. If you rode during the day and during the night, would you count that as 2 days? I know not everyone cares, so long as they get up to the mountain. I respect that.
I have set a goal to get at least 50 days this year, for me that is any time I get on the lift. But if I ride from 8am-8pm I still only count that as one day. Not trying to start a competition of how many days, it just helps me track progression. That and I am on lunch at work and pretty much all I am thinking about is riding...

I would say 8-8 is one day but it is one hell of a day of riding. If you get on a lift and link some turns I count that. If you have a backyard jib session I would also count that.

Oh it is going to be hell alright. Temps in the single digits. Snow falling the whole time. Riding from 8-8. It is going to be a doozy.

any day you strap in n go (ON SNOW not carpet) counts.
hopefully the time spent on snow averages out. there are days where I go for an hour, and other days I go for 7 or 8 hrs or more... most nights I ride for at least 3hrs (7-10 during the week). My bro and I are doing 30 days of madness in January... gonna try to get to the hill for 30 consecutive days. we're counting one run days, but it's kind like Lays - you can never have just one ![]() |

i would kinda have to disagree with you kyle :)
even if i go up once for 10 mins. it's still a day, just a very very sh*etty day.
or if i go up from 9am-10pm. it's still a day. but a very very damn good day.

I have studied this topic to a science and here are my findings:
Any day sliding on the snow with a snowboard is 1 day:
This can include riding 1 day at a resort
Riding muliple resorts in 1 day
Backcountry jump or riding
Urban Rail
Backyard sesh
Riding day and night.
In my case, all the days that i ride a little balance out for the days i ride day and night
i am at 18 days with 3.5 powder days

Mike.M is an ANIMAL when it comes to shredding!!! If I could pick one person to ride with on a regular basis from this site it would be him for sure!!!!! He helped me progress more in one day than I did the month previous. It was seriously the most fun day I think I may have ever had on the hill. I can't wait to shred with him again during the annual Bruizzapalooza!!!!!

Every day I have ever gone riding I have gone as long as physical possible. No going to a cafe or fancy eatery, I have a few sandwiches in my pocket and eat them while riding. Or I buy a burger and chocolate milk and eat that while riding.
A lot of the time I ride from an hour before lifts start until an hour after they close. So about 11 hours each day. Thats no joke. |

i rarely ride more than 5 hours in a day (go hard and straight... haha that's what she said)...
honestly i include backyard sessions, urban missions, etc.
it's lame. i wish i didn't count the # of days on the hill.
enjoy each day like it's your last.

Yes Phat we will be able to hang. The real question here is are you going to be able to hang. Keep in mind the bases of all our mountains are above 10k feet. The altitude will get you buddy!

Not sad at all. I also take a picture a day on the mountain to tally my days, that way each picture is date stamped so I can go back and know exactly when it was and it helps me track progress. I know exactly the day I started hitting rails, boxes, walls, kickers, grabs and how high I got. I count each day that I rode for at least two hours as a day. I figure the days that I ride day AND night 9-9 help even out some of the days that I only rode 4-5 hours. Either way, I count them as one day per day even if I hit multiple mountains. I have a handful of days that I rode Beaver Creek or Vail during the day then headed to Keystone to get some night rides in, still only counts as 1. If I spend 2+ hours riding the pass I count that as one day too. |

Yeah, I like to stay for at least 4 hours too or else I'd feel like I wasted my money on the lift ticket and the long drive to Tahoe. Then the drive back to SF or SJ. |
