Camelback and Blue Mountain mostly.  Had some nice snow this weekend at Camelback although it was pretty crowded.  The bunny slopes were ridiculously crowded to the point where it was hazardous for any new boarders to try to learn lol.  It seemed like there was someone sitting/falling on the ground within like every 5 foot radius, my newer friends got HOUSEEEED by a few people who didn't know how to stop.

ha, yea that sucks about your friends getting drilled. its always a show on the weekends with people who have no idea what they are doing and tend to put you in danger

Yeah I try to avoid Saturdays at Camel. Sundays seem to be not as bad sometimes. Going next Monday so it should be pretty empty.

It was pretty empty at Camelback this morning/noon. There was almost no line, didn't wait for the lift more than 30 secs. The bunny hill only had a few falling bunnies lol.  I love going there on weekdays, both snow and lines are in good condition.

weekdays early in the day is the best time to go to avoid crowds and get the best conditions, less bus trips during the week make the crowds much more tolerable

Funny you mentioned this, saturday at camelback was my first time riding.  Did the lesson then was @ sun bowl.

I don't have much to compare it to but it was pretty packed, i'm pretty lousy at stopping but i'm really good at controlling butt skids, didn't run into anyone OuchTongue

I'm in philadelphia, so i'm gonna try out bear creek this week.  I know its supposedly not that great but I can get there in an hour, and i'm still new enough to not care about the mountain all that much

Bear creek is great when your beginning. It's not crazy big and it's not as packed with ppl as blue mtn and camelback.

I think I'm heading to bear creek on Saturday (depending on what the other people want to do) because one of the guys needs to do a lesson, and the instructors at bear creek are pretty awesome. They spent ALOT of time with my gf's son when I took him a few weeks ago. He essentially had 1 on 1 for the entire day.

So if you're gonna be there sat let me know if you want to get together.

I try to hit a differnet mountain each weekend but my fav is blue.  I'm in west chester so only about 40 minutes give or take from Bear.  Camelback is nice but a lot of jersey overflow on the weekends.

Jack frost suuuuucks.  shatty lodge, shatty runs. Bear is really stepping it up with the park this season.

I go to camelback the most in PA and I also went to eagle rock too. eagle rock is nothing compared to camelback but its a good mountain when you dont feel like going to a mountain thats going to be packed.

Have you ever checked out PIST? More snowboarding-focused than the ski and board club. Bunch of trips/rides to the mountain all the time.

i've been in it the last two years but the club always falls apart when its actually winter and snowboarding takes places. after the rail jam and first trip the club becomes kind of weak. i'd personally like to do more riding through pist but ski club is more reliable and a better deal. i also hate relying on others to get me to the mountain and ski club is always there for a trip. i think its good that the club finally decided to do organized bus trips but i dont have a season pass so it ends up being its about 10 dollars cheaper for ski club. hopefully, the club runs the vans consistently and much earlier next season to get more people to the mt thought pist.

I can't really speak for the past two years because this is my first year...but from the sounds of it this year is way more legit than past years...The rail jam was sick, the trip to sugarloaf was amazing, and we are going to big boulder in two saturdays for ridiculously cheap...and even though they didnt start running weekly vans to the mountain until about a month ago, there are at least 5 of us with cars who drive up allllll the time (myself included). Understandable if you don't have a season pass to go on ski club trips though. I'd definitely try to maybe give it another chance, personally I've had a great time with it.

The rail jam is a good time and the trips are a good deal and overall the club is a lot better than last year. I just expected more the first year and was just disappointed with how it turned out. I'll defiantly join again next year to get the discounted season pass and get a proform for a discount on a new jacket depending on the sponsors next year. I have a lot of friends in PIST that I ride with while at 7 springs and it helped me meet new people to ride with.

its ok. cept the black diamonds are full of moguls and is very short. also personally i think the trails are way too narrow compared to whitetail.

most of the trails at roundtop are pretty wide i guess. and i think only 1 of the 3-4 diamonds has moguls most of the way down

I went to liberty and roundtop this year, though mainly liberty. Liberty is 15 minutes from Gettysburg and Roundtop is abour 35-40. I didn't make it to Whitetail. =0(

I think I did less than half the mountain at Roundtop as I haven't ridden anything above a blue--ever. My friend has told me that Roundtop's toughest runs are much less intense than those with the same rank at Liberty. I know the back side at Liberty can be pretty intense with a good amount of "powdery" spots.

Roundtop is the second worst resort I've ever been to, first place going to tussey mountain. Go to liberty instead the extra drive is worth it. Less punks/people in general, better conditions usually, and I like liberty's park more. If you can get to Big Boulder though, that's my top PA recommendation.
