Just search "snowboard base repair" on youtube and you'll find plenty. Here's a pretty good one:

Make sure to keep the p-tex candle low once you have it lit. If you keep it low to the board the flame won't burn as hot which will prevent carbon from building up.

just like jawong said, if you are working with clear, try to keep the flame blue so that you won't burn carbon too much. If you are using black p-tex, go nuts.

Thanks Dan
Alright, I'll keep that in mind.
My base is mostly black, so i bought black p tex.
Clear P tex sounds interesting.

How do you know when a cut is deep enough that p-tex is needed?

I do it like this. If it looks ugly, then I p-tex it, if it's only a tiny scratch or little gouge, then I don't. But definitely p-tex it if you can see the fiberglass coming out of gouges and valleys.

If your base is black you should be fine with the instructions given and tutorial videos. Otherwise if you have a coloured base and have to use coloured p-tex it is hard to not burn it and it looks pretty dodgy on the board, best bet is to take it to a repair shop, shouldnt cost more then $10.
