Yeah, High has been blowing(snow) for a while and finally stopped today.
While I love that they're getting coverage, everyone that talks about it on the hill hates riding 
while they're on foggy goggles loud airplane noises and snow/ice rocks in your face.
Their lift's had maintenance problems and shut them down for about a few hours today.

All in all, I'm just glad to be boarding.

I heard that Big Bear always has better snow than Mt High. I went night boarding once, I think it was Big Bear. That was a fun experience and would have no problem doing it again. It's just that it was my 1st season trying to snowboard and it wasn't fun learning on pure ice. I should try Mt High during the middle of the season to accurately see how good their snow is

no such thing as better snow than the other since they get the same storms but big bear is usually a few degress lower than mt high but you can hardly tell the difference

that's funny rurchan you're comparing which one has better snow.  It's not like comparing ice coast vs PNW or fluffy light champagne snow of CO and Utah.  It's freakin man made in southern california snow.

^ I always wonder how this better snow came up.  I rode both this weekend and both felt the same to me.  Except the wind didn't help Mt High in the afternoon, but in the morning it felt just like the snow I was riding at Bear.

I was thinking your snowboard is high tech and you added nano tech from your work/school to tell you the grade of snow.

you should get your beauty sleep in if you wanna go since i'm pretty sure chains will be required and make sure you put them on all 4 wheels and at your house too. don't want you to lose control on the surface streets too.

Getting a cabin up in Wrightwood with 25+ people on the 20-22nd.

I hope the rain hasn't already washed away all the powda and made a dent in the base.

Went today and it didn't rain.
It was awesome, fog rolled in and out, but  that was later in the day.
There was soft stuff all over, I was also glad they weren't blowing because while I like that they make snow, I don't like it blowing in my face.

Well the singles line was about 10-15 people out of the gate.  That was pretty consistent until about 3:00 when I left.  And with people cutting, it takes awhile.  The other lines were about up to the gate or a little past most of the time.  I glanced at the east parking lot as I drove by and it was about say 1/4 full or a bit more. (east is closed). 

Not terrible and a little expected for a sunny day after some snow, but thought it'd be a little lighter being a wednesday.

i wasnt aware cabins were out for rent around wrightwood, i only see one hotel in that town

Theirs a bunch of cabins for rent, my gf tried finding me one kind of late for my birthday and the one we got last year was booked.. She somehow found this gem of a fkn pad and it sleeps up to 40 hahahaha!

....Suggested 20 but you know how it gets when your drunk and DGAF.



EDIT: On Mountain High's website you can go over the Mountain tab and go down to Lodging and they have links to individual realtors and what not.

Well I live in San Diego, 2 1/2 hours. From the cabin it says were 4 miles away from Mt. High so what 5-10 minutes?

I've been pleasantly surprised with the park crew lately, they have been maintaining features more than I can remember in the past, and it seems like there are a lot more of them out there too.

I agree... I've actually seen them do some maintenance work. Still not as good as Bear, but since High is the only local hill I have a pass to this year, I'll stop comparing. But the really annoying thing that the park crew cannot fix are the little rollers that get created on the jib/jump line at lower Chisolm from people breaking right after a feature. I've only seen this at High, maybe its cuz the features are so close together? Those things jack me up more than any feature this season Cry

I was hitting them more towards the end of the day, around 3/4ish? There was like no one taking those jumps anymore and I was in blue/grey with my trusty bright yellow burton hero! LOL

True! that's why I just went for the big kickers and it was scary the first few times, but I definitely got use to it quick.

True! that's why I just went for the big kickers and it was scary the first few times, but I definitely got use to it quick.
THey were blowing last time I went so the run in was real moist and sticky.
I was disappointed I couldn't hit em. Hopefully they're there for a long long time.
