or a facemask if you hate sunblock.

I can't stand the smell of sunblock and I swear it does not sit well with my skin whenever I apply sunblock.

I haven't been up there for a few weeks...
How's the conditions? I'd imagine they're blowing every night when it cools down enough. Then a slushbucket in the daytime??

The bartender at East said they were probably gonna close East down this week, due to the weather.

conditions isn't bad just soft machine groom snow and some slush overall no crowds at any lift lines, don't know how it will be this weekend tho because of Cholula Triple Air will likely be busy this sat

The comps don't slow down/crowd the lift lines, but the blue angels are there (8 buses full of people who park at the end of West lot and have a designated picnic area for them in the parking lot when those areas can easily park 20 cars).  OMG...so annoying.  All of them go through the ski school line and they get priority.  80% of the time they aren't paying attention so it ends up being 2-3 ppl per chair.  The lines were ridiculously a long wait because of them.

how does iowa play into a thread about Mt High? regardless the super bowl might actually help lessen the crowds on almost all the mountains.

Very disheartening to hear everyone :(. What a disappointing season in terms of conditions (though I've gotten some pretty decent sessions out of bear and a fantastic ride at Mammoth the other weekend).

Giving Mt High their final shot with a night boarding trip this Sunday (skipping out on the Superbowl).

I know I'm going to regret it deeply, but I'm addicted. lol.

Didn't see snowplayers at that time, but it seemed icy to me, or I was just really phased that it looked like it was icy while riding.
I hadn't ridden nights in a while before that.

Went to High Last night...
Careful... It was the weirdest snow I'd ever been on @ High.
Since it was so warm these past few days the snow was slushy & the water from the snowmelt has compacted the lower layer of snow...
So what you have is... Slush + rock hard ice...
Weird to have both... so be on your toes... metaphorically...

I have two night passes. Anyone interested in buying them? I'm not desperate enough to ride icy conditions.

My prediction is 2 more storms... both of mediocre quality... I think we'll have a sub 50" snowfall year... so far I think it's 29" this season...

After Feb it's pretty much down hill from that highly doubt there will be any last minute storms.I'm a regular for night sesh even tho it's cold as hell and icy but less crowded so no complaints here, everytime i go during the day it's usually packed and features are pitted and i hate parking at east or on highway 2.

I still think there will be 2 storms in Mar. The current weather model shows a system that should hit Cali in 2 or so weeks... but eh... you could be right too....

I always thought you needed a permit to park on the 2, like an adventure pass or something?
That's always been why I never parked on the 2.

How was it? These warm temps are turning me off from the local mountains.
I was in the area on sunday and looked at the conditions... East looked like it would destroy your base and west... didn't look too much better...

true true...
I do blame them (partially) for not doing any more weekday night sessions... that's when I usually went... (no 15 min waits to get on the only quad lift like on the weekends)

they ran the night sessions all season last season.

probably not gonna buy a pass next year... just not worth it if they aren't open when I can enjoy the mountain.

I heard this is the worst year ever snow wise.
Next year's pass should be well worth it.
One of the workers said they laid off most of the night crew, sucks that the weather cut their hours.

should be 60's in the mtns this weekend. that doesnt bode well for snow conditions. but I've been seeing a lot of trips pop up on meetup.com for mt high, big bear, and mammoth. so the snow players may be out no that they can actually drive up the mountain without chain control.

because this is the mt high thread and people on here ride mt high so it matters that we got record snowfall...meaning the season might be prolonged
