Grab a balance board for your living room and instead of sitting watching tv, stand on it. Can't afford a balance board? Grab a skateboard minus the trucks and put it on top of a 2 liter bottle filled with water and covered in duct tape.

I strap on my board in my back yard and shift my balance from nose to tail and do ollies and 180s.. have just started working abs and obliques by doing oblique twists with a medicine ball. some squats for my quads. and bike riding for endurance..

That guys has some skills on the indo board. I made a cheap indo board out of a two liter bottle filled with water and an old skateboard deck. It works pretty well for balance but I would love to try the real thing.

I have an indo board and have for the past 2 years. Best investment I've made for off season training. Like tworunningcards said, get an indo board, turn on the TV, and use the board to work on your core and balance while you're watching your favorite show or a new snowboard DVD. I try and use it for 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Could definitely tell a difference last season after using it for a few months.

The bottle by itself isn't very strong, but a 2 liter filled with water and covered in duct tape does just fine. |

I've been wanting to get an Indo board, but I might just use my skatedeck w/ a 2lt like IAFFbuckeye talked about. Are there any good Indo board manufactures I should look into, don't want to spend some $$ on a bad brand and have it break.

Me and my brother made a trampboard out of a skateboard and some windsurfing straps and it actually helped my brother learn to 360 and i nearly landed a 540 after using this before we went to the snow.
i dont know how to put the video here so heres the link. http://vimeo.com/15068922 |

So I did the makeshift indoboard out of a skatedeck and 2lt, and shortly after snapped my skateboard. Oh well it wasn't anything special anyways, and I had been thinking about getting a new one.

I started riding my skateboard a lot more this week. Going to try and skate more this summer to help keep in shape for next season. The older I get, the more I need to do in order to stay in shape for the following year. Getting old sucks, but I'll never quit riding.

I've found increasing my flexibility to be the best thing for my boarding, gives you more power, more agility and greatly quickens your recovery! running up hills is also heaps good, great combo of leg strength and cardio, exactly what boarding is about!

I've been using my makeshift indoboard out of plastic pipe and a skateboard deck. I've also been practicing frontflips on the tramp.

I'll be getting a longboard pretty soon so I can mob that thing around town while getting a good workout and having fun all at the same time. Next season will be here before you know it.

My upper body is very weak. My boyfriend told me to do push ups, but I can't even do one. So I don't know where to start. Any suggestions? I ran track so my lower body is quite toned; I just quite neglected my upper body.

To the OP, anything is particular you are training for. I've never really thought training was necessary for the average snowboarder. Are you doing any racing or competitions?
